I stayed in Angie's "Owl Cottage" for two nights with my sisters for a weekend getaway. Douglas is a charming town with great shops, restaurants, and galleries. The cottage was cozy and charming. Close walk to the lake and easy parking. Angie was easy to communicate with!

Cozy little place is the perfect spot for a quick weekend get away. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and in good working order. This will definitely be our spot next time we are up that way. Thanks!

It was a perfect option for an impromptu getaway for my family. We decided last minute to head to Michigan while our floors were being refinished. The Willow Tree Cottages looked great and did not disappoint upon arrival. Communicating with Angie was great. I reached out late morning, finalized booking by about 1 pm and then arrived at the cottage by about 4 pm. The cottages themselves are cozy but very comfortable...especially because we spent most of our time outside at Oval Beach, walking around Douglas or exploring Saugatuck. Having a separate living room and a bedroom is very important to us because we have a baby that goes to sleep about 8:30 and we did not want to be stuck in a hotel room where we'd have to be silent and lights out while the baby slept. The kitchen has all of the necessary equipment to make breakfast and simple meals and the kids were happy with cereal for breakfast each morning. The yard around the cottages has ample room for the kids to run and play. A porch swing was perfect for relaxing with a book and a glass of wine. Our last night there we made a campfire in the fire pit and the kids were so enthralled that they completely forgot about iPhones and YouTube. From the cottages, we could walk to downtown Douglas or ride bikes to either the Saugatuck Brewery or to Saugatuck itself. Oval Beach...rated one of the top beaches in MI is about a six-minute drive away. We are hoping to return this fall...we simply loved it that much.

Response from Angie:
Stephen was confused with our check in policy. Check in is always 3pm, and he was frustrated with not knowing the code to our lock at 1pm. Although he was early, we allowed for an early check in for Stephen. The address is clearly on the cottage for our guests, directly under the coach light, as seen on our pictures. Cleaning fees are waived with a week stay. Our Wi fi code is in bold on the over-sized refrigerator. I had no idea Stephan was so miserable, other than being rude on the phone as he was trying to check in early, I figured he had a nice visit.

Conveniently located within walking distance to Downtown Douglas and the Douglas beach (0.9 mile). Well appointed cottage- yet plan to take your own soap/shampoo/coffee etc. .. grocery store in walking distance too. Foodies/wine lovers must eat The Kirby down the street !!! Farmhouse Deli has amazing sandwiches - organic so pricey, but delicious. The Interurban shuttle will take you around town or to Saugatuck for $1! Look on Internet for hours and phone number. Great stay !
