Isola Garibaldi is the newest and trendiest district of Milano with a dinamic blend of restaurants and cafes and specialty shops. It has an easy access to all means of trasportation and you can reach the very heart of town (3km away from piazza Duomo - Milan's gothic Cathedral and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele), along a pedestrian path that winds through new architectures and historical buildings. Recent redevelopment has created a walkway to the Duomo through the Fashion District, the new piazza Gae Aulenti, Vertical forest and Corso Como.
There are several top restaurants, bars and cafeteria (Blue Note, Alcatraz, Red Feltrinelli, Fonderia Napoleonica, ice-cream shop Grom, Eataly, Frida, Teatro Verdi, craft and vintage shops. Thereabout there are many supermarkets with flexible hours (Esselunga, Carrefour, Dico).
The area is very well-connected, nearby Porta Garibaldi (Malpensa Express, Passante ferroviario, Frecciarossa and Trenord), the underground MM2 (Central Station, Cadorna-Rho Fiera, i Navigli, Lambrate, Forum di Assago, Ospedale San Raffaele), underground MM5 (University of Bicocca and Hospital Niguarda Cà Granda), underground MM3 (from Zara to Duomo-Montenapoleone and via della Spiga) and many other tram and buses.
