Curassow Amazon Lodge is located 145 km or 90 miles upriver from Iquitos in primary/virgin jungle, exceedingly rich in species of both plants and animals.

The space

Curassow Amazon Lodge is located 145 km or 90 miles upriver from Iquitos, Peru and about 3 hours by speedboat, in primary rainforest (virgin or untouched jungle) which is exceedingly rich in species of both plants and animals and ideal for Amazon expeditions focused on wildlife observation.

Most lodges are located downstream, near Iquitos or along the Amazon River. These places are heavily populated, heavily traveled, and therefore there are not animals in the wild, which is why they resort to visiting Monkey Island and serpentariums to see animals in captivity. At Curassow Amazon Lodge you will stay in virgin or primary jungle (untouched rainforest) and be observing animals in their natural habitat during the Amazon expeditions, with facilities as bungalows with private bathroom, shower and 24-hour water. These are some reasons because Curassow Amazon Lodge is considered a Boutique hotel or lodge deep in the jungle of Iquitos.

Guest access

Curassow Amazon Lodge has facilities very unique in Iquitos and in harmony with nature being considered a boutique lodge: bungalows with private bathroom, shower and 24-hour water, ideal for families with children, just-married, and everyone who wish to observe animals in wild as birds, monkeys, sloths, pink and grey dolphins, piranhas, tarantulas, frogs, caimans, scorpions, rodents, the giant water lily (the biggest aquatic plant in the world), medicinal plants in their natural habitat, navigate the Amazon River, swim with the dolphins, camping, hiking, canoeing, visit local villages, eat exotic foods, and more during the Amazon expedition in Peru.
