Alex did a great job - communication was great, apartment was just as described, and everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend - great host, great spot.

Great host. Well stocked, gave us water bottles, some local beer and even some breakfast. Nice condo. Only improvement could be a more comfortable bed. Neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy.

Alex's apartment was great. Very good communicator, checked in prior to my arrival, was very generous. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks Alex.

Alex made us feel very welcome and the place met our needs very well. Close to town and ND campus (2 miles - we ran over and back to avoid parking and game day traffic), but mimimal traffic. Parking was always available. Neighboor hood is a little edgy, but cleaning itself up nicely.

Great guy. Great place. Great stay. Stayed for two nights and Alex met us early, gave a quick tour and offered several recommendations to places to eat/drink. He was organized and always replied to messages promptly. Nice touches were some tasty craft brews options and wonderful breakfast treats. Very easy access to ND. Could walk to some of the downtwon South Bend spots. Nice older building that had been renovated, original hardwood floors and unique archways between rooms. Easy parking. Window AC and ceiling fans did the job even on a hot (85-90) weekend. Would not hesitate to return. Thanks Alex.

Alex was an excellent host to work with for my stay in South Bend! He was responsive to texts and knowledgeable about the area. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. I was down there for the weekend to watch some baseball games at Notre Dame. This was my first time in the area, so I didn't really know what to expect. The apartment itself was great! The building is a little older, but it has recently been renovated so it feels quite modern. One drawback to how it is set up is that the entry door to the building is on the other side of the bedroom wall, so it can get a little noisy. I'd recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. I also wished I could open up the windows a little more since it was so warm, but they weren't able to open much (for safety, I suppose). It was very nice to be within walking distance of downtown, maybe about half a mile, and I felt safe walking in the daytime. There were several nice touches, like coffee, tea, and access to other random food he had, a six pack of local beers in the fridge, and of course, pet-friendliness! I'd definitely stay here again if I'm ever in South Bend.

Response from Alex:
Thanks for staying Kaitlyn, and I'm glad to hear that the visit went well (although NC State didn't win the weekend series with ND). My apologies about the noise from the entry door. I'm working with the apartment manager to install some felt strips to quiet the opening/closing of the door (despite 8" concrete walls, the door is still loud). Safe journeys, and you and your pup are welcome back anytime.

A wanderlust currently calling South Bend home, always trying to seek out the interesting and unique in any setting. When hosting, my goal is to point the guest in the direction of local gems, such as farm-to-table restaurants, brewpubs, or worthwhile venues.
As a traveller, I'll avoid the photo-op stops and instead search for the areas, events, and places which are one of a kind. Currently struggling, awkwardly, to learn several types of latin dancing.
