We enjoyed our stay at Tanya's place - it is very roomy, has all the facilities you need, and is only a couple of blocks from shops and subway. Tanya was very helpful when we arrived early, providing somewhere for us to store our bags while waiting for cleaning to be completed, and made it very easy for us to return the keys on the day we left. We found the area to be safe and convenient, and about 20-30 minutes to Manhattan by subway. Highly recommended and thank you Tanya!

The listing was exactly as posted, could even say was beyond my expectations. The hosts were there to answer any questions. The place was clean and had everything i could need. The location is great 7 min walk from subway, parking on the street available aswell, the mall is nearby, and so are any kind of food or store you could need. Overall I loved by stay and will be staying again.

This was my first time using Airbnb, and it was an unpleasant experience. We arrived on Sept. 4th during the tale of a NYC heatwave with temps regularly in the mid to upper 90s. The space was listed with A/C as an amenity, however there was no A/C provided. This was brought to Tanya's attention right away, but it took 10 days from our arrival for her and Benny to finally provide us with A/C. We personally brought in two additional fans during the time we had to manage without A/C, but even with the windows open and fans running it was useless and practically unbearable since it just pushed around the hot and stuffy air of this basement apartment. While we were out, Benny unplugged our fans and tech devices and later told us that we shouldn't have multiple electrical appliances/gadgets plugged in and running concurrently (even though they were plugged into separate electrical outlets) because it would cause the wires within the walls to fry and lead to a fire. This in turn, leads us to question the quality of the apartment's infrastructure and safety. Another safety issue is an exposed pipe that runs across the floor between the kitchen and living space, which my boyfriend tripped and fell over during the middle of the night on his way to the bathroom. Other things worth mentioning: Lots of mosquitos somehow entered the place and some water bugs as well. Kitchen utensils looked as if they were used and then directly thrown into the drawer without washing. Lots of dust throughout the apartment. Soiled pillows with sweat and drool stains all over them.

Response from Tanya:
Dear Carol, thank you for your review of which is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! The place was spotless, dusted, vacuumed, washed, all bed sheets were changed before your arrival. I made sure of that. Everything was cleaned. It was hot during 3-4 days at most out of your 17 whole stay. I explained the situation with the A/C to you and you agreed to it. If it was unbearable - there was a hotel 10 minutes away you could of stayed there and I would of refunded you for those days. You requested the A/C on the 9/7, i informed you my handy man was back in 9/12 and was ready to install. You ran 3 huge fans NON STOP the house, even when you were not there and YES that doing that may absolutely blow out a fuzz or cause an electrical fire. Benny did the right and safe thing by turning off all running electric appliances when you are NOT there. Very irresponsible. In addition, you and your boyfriend smoked inside the house (broke a house rule) - and it wasn't only cigarettes! when you smoke and leave the door open you'll get mosquitoes. You also lite candles - which is 100% a fire hazard. I never make anyone stay if they are not comfortable or unhappy. You should of mentioned something and we would of worked something out where you would of been happy. Thank you for your constructive criticism.

The listing was accurate. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was classic Queens with easy access to the Subway system (R/M trains, 67th Avenue station) after a short 0.8 mile walk (that goes quite quickly). There are plenty of tasty food options nearby --- my favorite was Knish Nosh. There are also plenty of grocery stores nearby. A laundromat is a relatively short walk away (though I chose to visit friends in Long Island and use their laundry machine for free). My experience was pleasant overall. I used this apartment as a staging point for my clinical rotation at Jamaica Hospital. It never took longer than 45 minutes total travel time to get to the hospital (walking, subway, more walking). When I was not working, the apartment was a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of NYC life. There was a TV with cable, but I chose not to use it. I slept comfortably on the beds, and generally speaking, the apartment never got too hot or too cold. The amenities served my needs (stove, refrigerator, sink with dishes). And I was able to work out an arrangement with the host to park my car just outside the door of the apartment (for a small extra fee). Overall, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything worked out well for me in this spacious apartment. It has a convenient access for transportation, shopping, dinning and more. Even though I haven't had a chance to meet Tanya in person, we keep a smooth communication through messages and phone calls. Also, Lida and Benny are always there on site to address my needs. Thank you guys for everything.
