This is an honest step by step review that I hope will set accurate expectations for future visitors. The good stuff first. Mljet is an amazing island - you can hike, bike, swim, kayak, Etc. The flat itself is basic but all you need and with a great view of the lake. Soline is a very small town with just a few restaurants but nice and quiet. Okay here's the bad stuff. The port is not close - if you do not have a car you will need a ride. The airbnb host told us we would be picked up. We were not. In fact when we tried to call no one answered so it was pretty frustrating for your arrival to a foreign island. Instead we had to find a taxi from pomena. While in pomena I suggest you get groceries because there is not a market in soline. Then when we arrived we were let into the flat by a not so nice girl. She knew nothing of the surroundings to help us with what to do. Though there is an air conditioner it's not near the bedroom and is quite pathetic to be honest. We could not sleep it was so hot. Oh and there is no shower curtain - so there's that. No toiletries either If you do decide to stay here just note that you can rent bikes, buy food etc in polace or pomena but in soline there is nothing. Okay and good luck!

It’s always a shame to leave a bad review on Airbnb, and especially because the host can write you a bad one in revenge. I see that ‘Antonija’ has done that with another guest here. But I’m writing an honest one anyway, to really warn fellow travelers about this place. The island is paradise, but this place is hell. If Antonija exists, she certainly wasn’t in the village we stayed in. The accommodation is a half-constructed hotel, in a concrete block with about 15 other rooms. The room was tiny, and didn’t have a dining room, as advertised. Be aware - this is not somebody’s apartment, and not really a true airbnb situation. In front of the hotel are a few restaurants. The family that owns this place run one. To be frank, they were very unhelpful and rude. The flipside of this is that the surrounding landscape is beautiful. Really stunning. But I’d recommend staying in another village and traveling by bicycle or scooter to best admire this breath-taking national park.

Antonijas place is very beautiful, the appartment is nice and cozy and we slept like queens. The view from the balkony is fascinating. Ane cooked wonderful food from the woodstove, fresh fish from the sea, meat and vegetable. All people were very friendly to us. U can take the boattaxi over the canel to come on the other side and you can rent a bike (a very nice ridingroute along the sea) So all in all it was a wonderful time in Mljet and I just recommended.

Comfortable unit as pictured in the photos. Very air conditioner to help us cool down after experience the great sunshine of Mljet. Eat at her restaurant downstairs and enjoy her scrumptious home-cooked food. I recommend the grilled fish. Do note that the unit is located in Soline even though the address stated is in Govedari. Just tell the National Park Rangers who are manning the gate that you are a guest and you can drive your car in.

Antonija is brand new to Air BnB so we had some confusion over the room we paid for - but she was very accommodating and the place we got was immaculate and Soline Mljet in the National Park is a very special place. Antonija also serves very yummy food in her konoba! The pick up in cars to and from the accommodation was really appreciated.
