The space

This spacious, airy house comes complete with sun-drenched courtyards making it perfect for entertaining, enjoying outdoor meals, or just lounging under the passion fruit vines.

Take a short stroll to the end of peaceful Fawkner Street, and find yourself facing Luna Park on St Kilda's famous Acland St, fully immersed in the cafe culture and lifestyle synonymous with one of Melbourne's most treasured suburbs. Keep walking another minute or two, past the delectable pastry shops, fashion retailers, restaurants, bars and cafes, and find yourself on St Kilda beach. From here, enjoy a drink at any of the bustling foreshore bars and enjoy the spectacular view, take a dip in the bay, or a walk, run or bike ride along the foreshore path - running in one direction to Port Melbourne, and the other direction to Elwood and Brighton beaches.

If you're looking for a fantastic stay in Melbourne, look no further.
The house itself is charming and bustling with period detail. Two double bedrooms, each with queen sized beds sit beside a spacious main bathroom with laundry facilities.
Both the airy living room and spacious kitchen/dining room open onto a sunny courtyard that wraps around the house, allowing you to bring the outside in.
Outside you will find a luxurious outdoor couch nestled amongst the leafy courtyard garden, an outdoor dining table, BBQ, washing line and fire pit. Herbs are also growing in the garden which guests can help themselves to.

Finally, off-street parking for one car, and tram lines running into the CBD (96 and 16 trams) stopping at the end of the street makes this house highly accessible.

We spent 2 weeks at Briony's place over Christmas and new year and loved it. We are a family of 4 and found the house perfect for our needs. It's located a stone's throw from the beach, tram stops, Luna park, lots of buzzy cafes and restaurants and pubs. The St Kilda area is fun and full of character, great for people watching. A little bit up the road along the beach is the st Kilda Sea Baths, which has a big gym and indoor pool right on the beachfront. We loved having that so near as we could fit in some work outs to work off some of the holiday eats! And if you keep strolling along the beach towards Port Melbourne you'll reach Catani Gardens, where every Sunday they have pony rides for the kids, which our toddler loved. She had her first pony ride on a pony called Homer! The house itself is a lovely terrace with a courtyard perfect for entertaining. The hosts have planted pretty flowers and herbs and my young toddler loved watering the plants and picking the mint to eat. We had friends over a few times and it was nice to sit in the courtyard with some wine and enjoy the sunshine. The house is fully equipped with everything you need, and Briony even stocked up on some essential items for us such as coffee pods and condiments and shampoo etc. She also provided a baby cot and highchair for our baby, at no extra cost. She was also responsive to any questions we had and when we couldn't work out how to use the tv, she called me straight away and talked me through it. All in all, we loved staying here and can highly recommend this place - great location, lovely property and fabulous hosts.

What a fabulous location and lovely home. So close to everything and a lovely house to relax in at the end of the day. Some cleaning issues at first but everything else was fabulous. Communication was great and host had friend to assist with anything further that we needed.

Originally from Sydney, I've been living in the St Kilda area with my partner Alex for years now and we love it.

We're both active; love going for runs, bike rides, and playing beach volleyball (one of the reasons we chose to live in St Kilda - the beach, the bay and Albert Park are all on our doorstep along with fantastic running and bike tracks through spectacular scenery).

We both also enjoy a tipple at the end of the day, or on a sunny weekend afternoon - again St Kilda is the perfect location to accommodate this, with loads of Melbourne's best bars and cafes literally at our doorstep.

Beyond the golden shores of St Kilda, we love skiing and travelling. So when we're off doing those things, we're excited to be able to welcome others into our house to experience wonderful St Kilda like a local.
