Rose Cottage is located in the leafy suburb of Glendinningvale and provides the perfect base to access most of PE easily. Rose Cottage is an original Granny or Garden Apartment which has antiques as part of its décor. Rose Cottage is a home from home. If fancy furnishings and hotel luxuries are what you are looking for, this is not your choice.
As part of a meditation centre there is always the option to drop in for a yoga class or simply to enjoy quiet. It's a great working space.

House Rules

As we are people who go to bed early and rise early, those who appreciate the quiet life are preferred guests. No smoking is allowed inside or on the Meditation Centre grounds. Those who like wine are requested to only drink in the Cottage itself and not in the Centre itself or the surrounds outside the garden. We are environmentally conscious people and recycle all kitchen and other waste. The water is heated by solar power and is hottest early morning and evening. As electricity and water are expensive, we do like to save these resources. Switch off all lights in unused rooms and shower more regularly than bathing.

Firendly greeting, and the veg soup a welcome surprise! We enjoyed our stay, comfortable with all that is needed. Added bonus was enjoying quiet time in the garden. Very convenient stay over if needing access to Greenacres Hospital. Will try the gratis yoga class next time.

Staying at Gita's was like staying with someone we knew for years. Gita was absolutely one of the most thoughtful hosts we had. She made us feel warm and welcome and even went as far as cooking us some delicious food to take on the road with us at the end of the trip. The home was spacious and comfortable (with an exceptionally comfy soft bed!) There is a dutch door (with a lock) between Gita's home and the section where we stayed, so it was very easy to ask Gita questions and it really gave us the feeling we were staying with friends. One of the reasons we loved the place was it felt casual and intimate- like home-so those looking for a hotel or luxury experience might not be the right fit. Some of the furniture is a bit on the older side, but Gita said they are planning to replace that in the near future. Also, Gita's home has many sweet animals (dogs and cats) which is amazing for an animal lover, but it could be a problem for someone with allergies. (Gita told us that she plans to change some of the floors from carpet to wood/tile which should also help!) Other than that, I would happily recommend Gita's to a traveller who is looking to stay at a comfy and warm home with a lovely host.

Gail and Gita live in a beautiful big house in Port Elizabeth which overlooks the sea. We are lucky enough to have a large 70 square metre cottage to house guests. Our home is used for spiritual gatherings and yoga classes which form the basis of our lives.
We are simple happy people who love animals and people.
Looking forward to meeting new people always and helping them to enjoy our beautiful country.
