The grounds are Gorgeous! The hosts are very nice and accommodating. There are tons of bugs but, that's part of Hawaii. We would of enjoyed our stay a little more if we could enjoy music with out headphones being a requirement and a better bed. All in all it was a good a value and a decent place to stay.

We were very happy in the Mango Suite. The view from the room and lanai is better than the pictures suggest. The suite was exceptionally clean, and the kitchen was particularly well-equipped. Do read the description: there are rules about quiet, and regarding after-hours activity. For us, this was great; we welcomed the serenity. Thomas & Janis were very nice, entirely gracious, and helpful with advice about touring, snorkeling, and the local eateries. As is typical, there is no air conditioning. It does cool off at night, but you will want the curtains open onto the lanai (which is shared, but there's little activity after dark).

Response from Paliuli:
Dear Dan and Kate! Thank you so much for your glowing remarks! Just wanted to let you know that we made attempts getting a new aerator and drain for the bathroom sink, but it's so old we couldn't find one. So the best we could do was lower the faucet water pressure and got a screen filter for the drain. The only other option is if the owner decides to get a new sink that will fit in that small corner space. Anyhow, should you and Kate make it back again we could have some projects for you--Ha! Take care! Aloha Pumehana! Thomas & Janis

I loved staying in the Mango Suite in South Kona. The property was very peaceful and the bed very comfy, which I always enjoy. Breakfast on the lanai with Kealakekua in the distance was perfect. I would definitely go back. Great value for this room.

The Host: Thomas and Janis were the perfect hosts. They were every warm and welcoming and they were very accommodating. Thomas made me macadamia cookies and he also picked fresh macadamias from their tree for me. Janis was very friendly and gave me tips on some of the best places to visit on the island of Hawaii. I also met Mark (the owner of the farm) and he was just as friendly and warm as both Janis and Thomas. The Room/Place: The farm was very quiet and is the perfect island getaway. The room is gorgeous. It has it's own self contained kitchen and the bathroom is very luxurious. The wifi is very fast and the views from the lanai are spectacular. Overall, Paliuli is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a refreshing escape.

What a beautiful, peaceful and quiet place! I stayed in the Mango suite consisting of a bedroom, bath and well equipped galley kitchen. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I felt comfortable right away. My hosts were very helpful without being intrusive. This was my 4th visit to the farm. I look forward to returning!

Aloha kakou (Hello to all):
The owner, Marc, fell in love with the Big Island in 1982 and bought this coffee farm in 2008 after living in several locations around the island. He spends about 65% of his time here on this island paradise which he considers "home". The farm offers him and his guests, a peaceful, quiet, farm stay on aina (land) that is deeply rooted in the old Hawaiian traditions and ways of Aloha. He danced hula with Halau 'O KeikiAli'i and grows gourds for making Ipu Heke (gourd implements used by hula dancers). He starts most every day with a great swim at one of the many bays in South Kona.
