Our historic home restoration has been a labor of love. The Skylight Renovation is unique with pros and cons. It is beautiful with great views from the skylights - private magnificent Jacuzzi bathroom, Japanese bidet, . BUT low sloping ceiling.

The space

New large, exquisitely designed converted Skylight skylight ensuite with queen bed, pillow top, and stunning private bathroom with Jacuzzi. Low ceilings may be challenging - and may need extra air-conditioning or heat depending on time of year (provided).

Our home is like no where you have experienced and we want our guests to appreciate the love and care that we put into everything here.

Grand Kitchen (limited use for fridge and microwave), pool, garden, breakfast nook, laundry

As much or little as the guests like. There is a housekeeper always present.

This is in the Historic Eastside Park district of Paterson, in a grand and restored stately home. The neighborhood is upscale and very safe. Founded by Alexander Hamilton it is America's first planned industrial city. We are on historic Eastside Park with Tennis Courts, horse stables, skating ice rink and other features. Bus transportation two blocks to New York City.

Very convenient to buses and local train. Parking is also readily available.

You can explore the Great Falls historic district and other convenient opportunities to Malls and Designer Outlets.

Charming house! Too bad I worked so much while there and couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Bed was comfy and cozy for much needed sleep. The bathroom was glorious! Met all my needs. Maxim was very friendly and welcoming.

After staying in Maxims home for almost a year , I have nothing to give but the highest praise. Maxim is an incredibly kind and generous host and Tracy is simply the best. They were both very welcoming and always made me feel at home through the year. The house is in the perfect location and it is surrounded by other beautiful homes in a very safe neighborhood. The supermarkets and convenience stores are also right around the corner. This made getting groceries or anything I needed easy to find and at any hour of the day. Tracy also goes above and beyond to meet any need or concern that you may have while staying in the home . She is also an incredible cook. I cannot recommend Maxim's home enough. If you would like to stay in Patterson for a short or long period of time , this is the place to be.

I didn't really meet the host much, but I understand that he's busy. Everyone has things to do. Tracy, the housekeeper was nice. She let me do my laundry for 2 dollars a washload. While Paterson itself might not be the safest city, the eastside park neighborhood was nice. I would go for jogs at the park and everyone would say "hello" or "good morning." I have a thing for old victorian homes and Maxim's place was nice along and nicely decorated. Just be aware that this room is 6 feet tall at its tallest point and the ceiling angles downward to about 3 feet. Try not to stay in this particular room during a heat wave. Other than that, I would stay here again if I needed to.

I truly enjoyed my stay in this beautiful house. I had the whole floor to myself and the kitchen nook was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks for your welcoming hospitality Maxim and Tracy!

The family was kind and welcoming. The house is old, historic, and cool. It's much bigger than it looks. Tracy was very helpful whenever I had any problems. The height of the ceiling was really not bad, I'm 5'10 and didn't have many problems. You kind of get used to it. The one thing that surprised me was how dangerous of an area Paterson is, especially towards the downtown part of it (4-5 streets away). I really enjoyed swimming in the pool and hanging out in the backyard. If you're here for a while and are active this is a huge plus. There are a few other people either staying there or living there and they are nice to talk to.

Response from Maxim:
The are is not dangerous at all. Alex is referring to a primarily mixed Arab/Latino/African American neighborhood after Eastside Park - but not dangerous.

Maxim was a gracious host from start to finish. He is very warm and welcoming and rented us another room last minute when our friend needed a place to stay since the weather got really bad during dinner. I adored this house and its exceptional charm. Next time I am in the area, at another conference, I plan to stay with Maxim again.

I am fun loving, progressive guy, with a great family. Sense of humor runs deeply in our family. We are multigenerational, enjoy history and travel, and dedicated to making the world a better place. I teach philanthropy and enjoy getting to know peoples' passions. My motto is we didn't know we could change the world until we tried.
