Turtles Reach is part of the exclusive Mullins Bay gated and secure community set in tropical gardens with three swimming pools, a Spa and fitness centre and which is mere steps away from Mullins Beach, one of the West Coast’s most famous beaches.

The space

The newly furnished and spacious four bedroom, four bathroom accommodation is located over three floors. The furnishings are designed to the highest standards and the interior includes many coral stone features and marble floors. Turtles Reach is equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, wireless internet access, three of the bedrooms have wall hanging flat TV screens and the fourth bedroom has a free standing TV/computer. There is a high technology TV and surround-sound sound system in the lounge (with the functionality via our Apple TV to stream your own Film/TV series or music from your own Apple devices) and a superbly quipped Miele kitchen with granite worktops. All bedrooms are beautifully appointed, three with king (US sizing) / superking (UK sizing) sized double beds and one with two single beds (ideal for children or friends sharing). All have ensuite bathrooms and built-in wardrobes and three of the bedrooms have balconies with sun-loungers overlooking the pool area, with a view of the Caribbean Sea from the vista on the second floor.

The house is equipped with a radio controlled zoned alarm system with two keypad stations. In addition the Mullins Bay gated community complex has 24 hour security patrols. A combination safe is provided for valuables.

Guest access

Whilst staying with us, you can join in with water sports on the beach, use our tennis membership at Sugar Hill, or play golf on one of the various top-quality courses located nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the beach (and the added benefits of automatic guest membership of the Royal Westmoreland Beach Club), the pools, the tranquillity of the garden, and take advantage of the many treatments in the Spa. This elegantly appointed and spacious three storey, four bedroom Villa has all the ingredients for a very special luxurious Caribbean holiday in the sun.

Interaction with guests

Our House Manager will be on hand to arrange for your complementary membership of the Royal Westmoreland Beach club and the Sugar Hill Tennis Club and to sort out any arrangements you would like him to make. For example, he can book restaurants, outings and events for you, and you can request a babysitter or cook who will be able to prepare meals to your specification

Our housekeeper works six days a week from approx 9am to 4pm. She keeps the house clean and prepares and changes bed linen and towels. She will also attend to guest washing and ironing if required.

Other things to note

Barbados is the most westerly of the Caribbean islands. Cooled by the prevailing NE trade winds, the climate is always warm and pleasant without ever being oppressive. The average daytime temperature is around 28°C whilst during the night it drops to around 22°C. Just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, the island has a population of about 267,000.

Turtles Reach is our home in the Caribbean. It is furnished and fitted to a high standard because that is the way we want it to be when we are there. We want our guests to have a great holiday and work hard to give the customer service to help this happen. What we ask in return is that guests treat our Villa with care and respect. It makes sense to be straight forward with potential guests that Turtles Reach is not the right choice if you are wishing your holiday to include 'wild' partying!

Turtles Reach is a wonderful villa and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend Turtles Reach and Sue as a host. We were looked after by Kathereen Sue's housekeeper who was very efficient and professional in her work, as well as friendly and informative. She shared her cooking tips with us and was a joy to have around the house during the day, nothing was to much trouble. Being so close to the beach and having the use of beds and towels there was a great benefit. Thank you Sue for the use of your wonderful holiday home. Lorna

Sue's place was absolutely fabulous - it was just a 2 minute walk to the beach (and a beautiful walk at that!), there were incredible restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk (Mullins and Bombas specifically), the house was gorgeous & spacious, and the management staff went above and beyond. If we ever come back to Barbados (which we almost certainly will!), we're hoping to return to Sue's.

WOW!! I cannot say enough good things about Sue and her home. Sue was an incredibly gracious host, she accommodated us at the very last minute ( the morning of check in!!) and her place was absolutely perfect. The location is directly opposite Mullins Beach - a prime location on the West Coast and one of the best beaches. The villa is immaculate and truly felt like a home away from home. Bedrooms and beds are incredibly comfortable, fast Wifi throughout, Kitchen is amazing and had everything you could every need, private plunge pool, and lovely patio with a grill. Can truly say it's one of the best villas I have ever stayed in and I can't wait to return!!

What a wonderful home! We had a great time staying at Sue's beautiful townhouse. It was perfect for our family's get away for a bunch of sister-in-laws. Thank you to Sue and Stephanie and all the work they did to make our stay perfect. The pools were clean and close, and the beach just a couple of minutes walk away. We really enjoyed the Mullins Beach Restaurant. The house was perfect. Thank you.

Turtles Reach was everything we hoped for AND more. This was our first foray into Airbnb and our first trip to Barbados. Susan and her local staff had all the details covered from airport transfer to stocked fridge. The unit is even more spectacular in real life than by picture! Clearly a villa designed and furnished as a personal island refuge rather than a rental property. Ideal set up for our family of 8 (kids claimed the bottom 3 bedrooms before they even noticed the palatial master suite on the 3rd floor! The plunge pool was never empty and right our out back gate was a beautiful pool that felt like ours (never saw anyone else in it) and just 15-20 steps farther was an even bigger pool with waterfall. The beach is a lovely 50 yard stroll through the complex and across a road which felt like it was right outside our back door. Cant say enough about the amazing beach and beach club. Ocean was breathtaking and terrific snorkeling is just off the beach. We swam with turtles, went tubing, played on a terrific water-playground (water tramp and climbing "iceberg"). We cooked several meals in our exceptionally well-equipped kitchen and took a short ride to Holetown for some shopping and hair beading. We did not rent a car but never waited for transportation as Susan's logistics team was always ready to pick us up even before we were ready to get out the door! Overall, it was an exceptional Holiday. One of those trips where EVERYTHING was even more wonderful than our wildest dreams!

It's probably an AirBNB cliche that the place is even better than the pictures but in this case it's true. My wife and I stayed here with a family of 3 (two parents and a teenager) and we all loved it. First, it's a very short walk to the beach. We went every day, and there's actually a string of nice beaches to swim at as you walk south. In the mornings we'd wake up, read the paper on the porch (yes, wi-fi is decent), and then go swim and be on the beach. It's not an amazing snorkelling spot, but we did run across turtles on way. (No promises for you, though.) Back at home, the space is beautiful, modern and well-kept. The beds and bedrooms are comfy and quiet. Everyone had a balcony. The bathrooms and showers are super nice. The kitchen is very well put together and we were able to cook a lot (also, there was a great grill outside). The outdoor space is super comfy and usable, and the plunge pool (and bigger pools just outside) are really nice for sitting in the water in the shade. We used the outdoors a little less in the evening than we might have, with all the zika alerts, but were mostly bug free during our time there. It's in a development, so there isn't a ton of restos or stores nearby, but there's public transit to Holetown, and Stephanie actually bought some groceries for us so the kitchen was stocked when we got in. We rented a car, to see things, buy groceries and dine out occasionally--the Tides is pricy but beautiful, and Roti Den has great rotis, and we recommend the Super Centre in Holetown for groceries. The hosts were super responsive. We wrote Sue with a question about the TV remote and got a phone call within about 5 minutes of hitting "send" -- I can't guarantee it'll always be that fast for you but I was impressed. Stephanie helped us out locally and was also just great. We are already talking about going back next year and would happily recommend this place and the hosts to anyone.

We live in Cheshire, England. Both my husband and I have worked in jobs that required much commitment and the requirement for overseas travel. The sunshine and ‘laid back’ tempo of Barbados has always managed to relax us so we get back to work in the UK feeling happy and energise…
