Folks love it here. It's a peaceful spot and has great energy. The studio has a cabiny feel(note: restroom is outdoors[read on below***]).
Two cute bikes, a gas grill, locally roasted coffee and organic half n half provided, radical!
99% of my guests are out this way for Olympic National Park :-)

Pets okay(please notify when one is coming), more info detailed in listing***.

The space

*Think rural! This space is in the country and wonderfully rustic. You are sure to hear birdsong( and frogsong seasonally as there is a large pond nearby). A bald eagle has recently taken up residence in a large cottonwood tree here on the property.

*The studio building is a fairly new construction vaulted ceiling one room space with full kitchen(stove, oven, fridge, double basin sink), bathroom and washer/dryer in Sequim. Wide open studio floor plan and no walls, in other words not much at all in the way of privacy inside. Reaching the higher queen bed requires climbing a ladder and is best suited for physically fit people. The floor is concrete, like a garage, with throw rugs. Space is heated with thermostat controlled electric in wall heater.

***Disclaimer: the toilet here is an outdoor sanikan/porta potty, this is tidy and serviced very often, it is also for airbnb guests only and noone but yourselves will be using it. Pets allowed (please see full info. under "other things to note." ) I'm sorry, but i have a no pitbull policy. Restroom is located out the back slider door and is under an eave, out of the weather and well lit with a motion sensor light.

*a cot (pictured) is available as well if desired, just ask, as it is stored outside the studio. With the cot, 5 people could sleep comfortably in the studio.

Guest access

This is an entire home listing, it is all yours. The studio is behind my house but layout allows for lots of privacy. There is a lovely and private greenspace bordered by a very long cedar fence out back for you to enjoy, it is okay to build a campfire outside too, there is a basic rock fire ring.

Interaction with guests

If I am home or reachable by phone, I am at your service. I am born and raised in Sequim and can give lots of information and advice.

Other things to note

***PET INFO: I ask a $15 pet fee, guests pay in cash once here. No pitbulls please. There is a "chuck-it" ball thrower and some tennis balls stocked on site for visiting pups.

Beds are made up with fresh linens, pillows and comforters, and there are two extra blankets in a chest too. Local Sequim-roasted Rainshadow coffee, and organic half n half stocked in the studio. Includes drip coffee maker and filters, salt and pepper, paper towels, kleenex, basic cookware, toaster, dishes, dish soap, dish towels, sponge, shampoo/conditioner, body wash and laundry detergent, wash cloths, hand towels, and bath towels. There is ample safe parking. A tank of propane for BBQ is provided, there are 2 adirondack chairs and a picnic table outside on site as well.

*** I am a house swapper and always looking for new connections in Seattle or Portland for swaps of 2 to 3 nights, don't hesitate to throw out some dates if at all interested. No cash exchanged, straight across trade.

Controlled pets with manners are welcome. Please do notify me when a pet will be coming. A general description of size, and how many animals is appreciated. Sorry, there is a no pitbull policy(no offense). Late night check-ins are fine and many guests end up doing a self check in, which is pretty straightforward. Grown up behavior expected. This is a family home. There is a young golden retriever, and are 2 outdoor cats on site. My dog can be put away easily upon request. Your pets must be friendly or kept inside, there is a child on the property. Please no wandering dogs, my neighbors don't care for company. Smoking strictly outside only. There is a one time $15 pet fee, and I request this in cash/in person there is an envelope hanging on fridge in which to deposit this.

I text upon arrival and final departure are greatly appreciated. It is very helpful for cleaning purposes if guests can communicate approximate times of show up and leaving when possible.

If your dates are flexible feel free to inquire about piggybacking an extra night at either end of your trip @ $50/night cash(when other reservations allow).

Everything was awesome and even better than advertised. Super quiet, clean, and great amenities. It's a great base for exploring the Olympics.

Tanya doesn’t miss a detail in the wonderful space she offers up. Is both a retreat away from the typical and offers the convenience of walk-ability to everything—food, outdoor recreation, market, etc. Highly recommend!

Tanya's studio cabin was a perfect place to stay for our Olympic Peninsula escape. We recently moved to Portland from NY, so we have been itching to do some exploring up there. The location was an amazing jump off point to explore all of the major points of interest. We spent our first full day along the 101 traveling through Lake Crescent and down to Forks and La Push beaches. The second day we were able to go down to Hoh Rainforest as well as all the way up to Cape Flattery and back to her house by 9pm! Plus, close-by Sequim is adorable and Port Angeles isn't too far away if you'd like more variety! Honestly, if you're looking for a quiet, spacious studio for yourself or your small family, you'll be more than set. We took advantage of the fire pit (with provided wood - yay!) and grill and had everything we could need to make a meal, including condiments. Even our dog, Luna, loved the place and was happily sniffing around the secluded and private grounds. AND WE LOVE TANYA'S DOG! SHE'S SUCH A SWEETHEART! Tanya made sure we had everything we might need or want and was a wonderful hostess - we honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience during our long weekend getaway and we would 100% book her place again when we make it up to the area again!

Charming, comfortable and private, the cabin was a pleasant home base, and we had no trouble finding exciting things to do nearby. Recommended!

We loved Tanya's cozy studio! It was everything we needed. Well supplied kitchen helped us save money on meals with our own groceries. Bed was comfy and local coffee was just what we needed before a day hiking. My super city bf even admitted it was "pretty nice" which is a high compliment given his initial concerns over the porta potty. Beautiful, well behaved golden retriever greeted us on the property!

My husband and I wanted to check out the area. Tanya's place was a great out of the way, quiet place. I kind of wondered about the toilet being outside but it was fine, very clean. The bed was so comfy. Tanya was very friendly and nice.
