This is a magical farmhouse in a quaint little town. The house is cool in summer, with a stunning garden, full of herbs, veggies and flowers. A small dam and lawn area perfect for picnicking. A grape arbour next to the house is fabulous for afternoon naps, hanging out and games.

The space
Two rooms have doors, the other is "open plan" - perfect for a family or close group of friends. The lounge has a huge fireplace for coziness or braaing. The kitchen is quant and fully functional. The house is off the grid - so no eskom outages here! Wifi coverage all over house. And the garden is really the best - it is healing and relaxing and full of veggies and herbs that you can help yourself to!
Around the house are many areas to hang out in - the back stoep for daytime sun, the front stope for shade. The lawn by the dam for a night fire, or morning coffee. Under the grape vines for breakfast, lunch or dinner! In the pool on a HOT day.

Where you’ll be

Baardskeerdersbos, Western Cape, South Africa

Baardskeerdersbos is a hub of artists and farmers - living in an eclectic community. There are 3 local restaurants and pubs, and we're 4 kilometres from Lomond wine farm, 20 kilometres from Gansbaai and 15 KM from Pearly Beach. Every last Saturday of the month and all of December there are Saturday morning markets at the Ou Skool at the top of the village. Horses everywhere, and a great and very affordable riding stable, B'bos Riding School with Hayley, just behind the house for outrides through the amazing fynbos.

Throughout the year the Baardskeerdersbos Art Route hosts various events. In April/May we have our 10 day long Art Route with exhibits in artists homes, and various workshops and events throughout in the village and surrounds. Other mini-events pop up throughout the year including Dirty Weekends: Getting our hands dirty with art classes and performances. And other pop up events as the occasion arrises.

If you love nature, art, and a slow pace, Baardskeerdersbos is the spot.
