Art is kind host! All was perfect, this small villa is a little piece of heaven, where you can fall asleep listening to the waves. It's well furnished and equipped (plancha, barbecue, grill...) we really felt good there. La Lajita is quite small yet there is everything you need to have a great time (beach, palm trees, bars, restaurants - try la Falua!). Bonus if you have kids => tons of bed and playground nearby. Would definitively come back if I'm around!

For every one that is looking for a nice quiet vacation in a great house directly on the beach….. We recommend to go to Art’s. The house is more than equipped with all the things you possibly could need. It is nostalgic in some ways but also very clean. Waking up with the doors open and a view over the ocean is a really good start of the day. Next a good cup of coffee on the enormous terrace makes it complete. All that is left is starting to relax and enjoy where you are…… Don’t all book at once because we are definitely coming back for another visit. Thank you again Art for a very nice stay at your place. Regards family Brugging

It sounded like the perfect way to spend our last 5 nights on the island - and it certainly lived up to expectations. Communication was great and Art met us at the house where he gave us some really useful information on the surrounding area and other places to visit. It was good to learn that "Villa Dacil" was their family beach house and so it was really nicely presented and well-equipped. The beds are comfy, the towels are soft, the shower hot and the kitchen well equipped. There's loads of herbs and spices, vinegar, oils and the coffee machine works well! The terrace is fabulous and you can choose to stay in or out of the sun as it moves from one side of the bay to the other with great sunsets. The Atlantic Ocean is never quiet as it gently breaks onto the pebbles just metres away. It's hypnotic and the setting is amazing. Cruise ships pass on the horizon and local fishermen row their boats out from the shore for a day's fishing - it's very peaceful. La Lajita is a quiet place with some good restaurants, a well-stocked Spar & a few cafes. Everywhere in the South is within easy reach and in fact it's only about 45 minutes to the Airport heading North. The villa is rustic but it has everything you need and you really can't beat the setting. It is a house on the beach - not a fancy apartment with a sea view. It's amazing and our only regret is not being able to stay longer!

We booked the beach house for a long weekend in February. It was perfect for the total relaxation we were looking for. We didn't have a car so spent time on the terrace and the beach plus took local buses to nearby villages. If you are looking for a quiet restful place with uninterrupted views and sounds of the sea this is for you. Art was very helpful with times and local recommendations.

Not suitable for young, old or infirm . Dirty beach and derelict building used by local youths at night did not feel secure. One small window in sleeping area/ cell would not suit anyone with claustrophobia. Poor lighting and plastic cushions on concrete in kitchen/ living area did not make it comfortable after dark (7.30pm). Not value for money and poor accommodation but good terrace ,if it does not rain. Mark

Response from Art:
As you can see in the photos, it is a traditional house, whose greatest virtue is to be able to make life abroad. The kitchen chair is not plastic, it is leatherette. It is true, that the beach at certain times can be dirty, depends on if there has been bad weather previously. Every opinion is valid, and as you can see, this is the first evaluation I receive that seems to be not at all comfortable ... Everyone who has had the opportunity to be there knows how magical it is ... and the treatment that I have offered them ... Regards

Spent nearly all our time on the huge patio eating and relaxing. If you like to listen to the waves all day... this is the place. Very simple accommodations, but modern, well appointed kitchen. Water is cool (FEBRUARY) but still went in after a little exercise. Art was a very accommodating/welcoming host. Told us to use whatever was there (spices/oils etc). It's a quiet town with a nice new grocery store (Spar). All we needed. Great stay!
