We arrived earlier than we expected, but Matt welcomed us warmly! It was easy to find and the location was great. The condo is now working on renovations and there were ants. But we usually had schedule in day time and we got a fair refund, so it was okay. Washing machine was b…

Initially the host double booked our first 3 nights stay to someone else. However they did provide another condo slightly smaller for our needs but it was great location closer to the beach and higher up drowns the night city traffic noise! Also we got a fair $ refund. Then we mo…

Hi Elise, We are very sorry for your frustrations with noise. You are right, there is a lot of construction on Walina St. Our building should be complete with the routine lanai maintenance and painting in 1-2 months. Every building with lanais needs this routine maintenance about every 15 years due to the rain and salty air causing spalling of concrete and rusting of metals in the handrails and concrete. Additionally there is a lot of big commercial construction in Waikiki as a whole. The place is looking more like Hollyweird than the beautiful palm tree and beach imagery we are all used to seeing. Many locals were upset they took down the International Marketplace for another hotel. Another issue that made it hard for us to know which guests would be affected during construction was the constantly changing maintenance schedule on our building. I'm wondering if there is ever a construction schedule that is honored in Hawaii. Our stack of units was supposed to be finished in April. High-quality black-out curtains are expensive and we decided not to get them. This is our first negative review about light or noise from this site or our main booking site, where most of our bookings come from. The guest before Elise said the building maintenance noise was a bit loud, and the guest after Elise said no problem at all. Our stack is the last of the units to be complete, so the project should be finished soon. Thank you, Matt Eagle

Matt was very responsive to enquiries and welcomed us on arrival to show us around the apartment. The location of this apartment is great - just a few steps away from a big supermarket and a quick walk to many restaurants and the main strip of Waikiki. The apartment was fully e…
