This 1870's rural farmhouse B&B has 3 cozy bedrooms 15 minutes from Providence. This is the one bedroom option for a stay in this historic home. The atmosphere is an eclectic mix of antique and modern, with all the amenities. Breakfast is the highlight featuring home baked delectables fresh from the oven PLUS exotic farm fresh eggs. The yard beacons- with formal gardens, trees carved into Caryatids and other follies. A charmed spot!!!

The space

My unique 1870's Greek Revival 4 bedroom home stands on the former "Ingalls-Wheeler-Horton Homestead site" c. 1730 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by field and forest the 5 acre grounds offer a serene oasis. With its fruit- bearing trees, shrubs, vines and vegetable gardens, there is abundance year round. There are three bedrooms available and all have comfortable full size beds with bureaus, wardrobes and/or closets (sleeps 6). The bedrooms share a private bathroom separate from the host's bathroom. Breakfast options may include my signature grape juice, homemade scones or bread and fresh eggs from my exotic free range laying hens.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire house and yard. Guests are welcome to visit with the chickens and to use the porches and stroll the gardens.

Interaction with guests

I will be on premises and live in the home. I work in an outbuilding during the day. The degree of interaction is entirely up to the guests.

Tracy was an awesome host, warm and inviting. She explained everything on getting around and finding what we wanted out of RI. The best part was having breakfast made by Tracy, and eating along side Guinness. Thank you for being so informative on everything. Getting around was easy with your help. We hope to see you soon. Thank you from the both of us.

I expected to merely rent a room from Tracy while I attended a painting workshop -- however, in addition to having a comfortable place to sleep, I entered a wonderfully creative home environment that far exceeded my expectations. Tracy has created gorgeous landscaping that we enjoyed every morning from her kitchen while she prepared whatever I might want for breakfast: scones, eggs, fresh fruit, Belgian waffles, toasted bran muffins, home-made grape juice... every meal was outstanding!! In the evenings, she invited me and the other guest to join her whenever her friends visited, or to relax on the back porch, or to watch a favorite TV show. Tracy's awe-inspiring sculptures, marvelous artwork and interesting artifacts fill the house, prompting many fascinating stories and discussions. Words can not adequately describe the lovely experience of being Tracy's guest -- I truly hated to leave, but will look forward to staying with her and her dog Guinness again sometime soon.

Tracy's home is beautiful, my husband was surprised at just how beautiful the gardens are and we both enjoyed chatting with Tracy. We attended waterfire in Providence and it was only 20 minutes away, Tracy was very helpful when asked about dinner recommendations and breakfast was delicious.

Our stay with Tracy was, by far, the highlight of our road trip staying with airbnb hosts. Her home and gardens are amazingly beautiful and lovingly tended. The area is quiet and peaceful, offering a welcome respite from the hustle & bustle of the city and traffic. You can hear the buzz of insects and bird song around the clock. The breakfast offered was wonderful - nearly all ingredients come from the grounds - grapes from the orchard and eggs from the chickens, fresh grape juice and other assorted delights. Also, the tea selection was enlightening. The only thing more impressive than the actual home and breakfast was Tracy herself. She was the most genuinely warm and sincere hostess we've encountered, and we've met a lot of nice people. Another couple was staying for our first night and we all had a really nice time chatting - the house seems to lend a sense of warmth and community to all who enter. We hope to make a return visit - it would be worth planning a trip around.

Besides being an Airbnb host, I am a sculptor with a long career in the toy industry. I am also an active gardener, baker, and cook with professional experience. A "work in progress" I consider my home and grounds an extension of my art, and expressive of a life long obsession with object and form.
