the stay was perfect couldn't have asked for a better location or a more stunning house! from the moment you walk in the door it takes your breath away!! simply elegant kitchen and sitting area with a great touch of a disco ball on the roof! best feature of the house is hands down the bathroom, such an amazing shower and such a warm feeling! the bed room was stunning with the netting that surrounds it and the long mirror at the end of the bed it was very simple but so comfortable!! would highly recommend to anyone making the journey to Amsterdam. also it is in a perfect location walking distance from everything and max 15 minutes walk from central station. P.s the restaurant at the end of the street on the corner does the best Apple pie with cream

The apartment is in one of the best neighborhoods in Amsterdam, perfect for exploring. The apartment is true to the photos, really beautiful, very Dutch, very comfortable. One thing to keep in mind is the bedroom is on the 3rd floor and the bathroom is on the 1st floor (was not a problem for us but could be for some).

This is one of those reviews I hesitated writing because the experience was so fabulous I wanted to selfishly reserve this spot for myself, forever. To begin, the location of Alexander’s home is perfect. It’s a few moments’ walk from amazing restaurants, including the famous Winkel, one of the two best apple-pie places in Amsterdam. Nearby there also a bookstore, coffee shops, high-end antiques stores, fabulous bars, two grocery stores, and even a pet supply shop if you are hunting for a gift for your be-furred friends. Less than five minutes away is the Marnixplein tram/bus stop, providing access to all of Amsterdam. From here the city lies before you—museums like the Van Gogh, the Stedelijk, and the Rijksmuseum, as well the Centraal Station and Northside, offering trains to the rest of the country. It’s all easily accessible. The apartment itself is luxurious. Right after my stay at Alexander’s I spent a few days at a Doubletree Executive Suite in Amsterdam and Alexander’s shower glassed-in shower room was easily twice as big and more luxurious. He takes the breakfast part of Airbnb quite seriously. The refrigerator was stocked, with everything from fresh eggs, butter, and jam, to yogurt and fruit. On Saturdays the neighborhood hosts a farmers market, so fresh produce and cheeses were available and anything I didn’t find there was easily obtained in the two supermarkets on the street. The kitchen is enormous and the dining table could easily seat six. This is a kitchen for serious cooks, as demonstrated by the top-shelf gas range and drawers of spices. This was a clean, modern, stylish space anyone would feel at home in. The third floor bedroom is quote with an amazingly soft queen sized bed. This is clearly his home and not some soulless investment property and the details showed this, from the comforter and the good bath linens, to the antique silverware and photos of Lou Dog. (There was even a package of stroopwaffels on the table when I arrived!) It would be hard to find a better apartment in Amsterdam. One slight caution about the third floor bedroom in that it is up a winding staircase. If you have mobility issues, this would be a tough haul. Otherwise this place was fun, homey, and luxe. Check-in was super easy. Highly recommended.

Alexander's home is in a wonderful location, there are 2 grocery stores on the same black and lots of fun shops and tasty restaurants just around the corner. One of our favorites was getting pizza at La Perla just down the street, it's delicious! The house is easy to get too, we arrived by train at Amsterdam Central and if you don't have too much luggage it's a nice 15-20 minute walk through the picturesque canals of Amsterdam. Alexander's friend, Goran, checked us in. He was very nice and walked us through the house to show us how everything worked, he also walked us through a city map and outlined different areas of interest. The house itself is really lovely, nicely furnished with modern and stylish updates, my husband and I are both designers so that's something we find value in. The house is located on a nice urban street with steady foot traffic but not too busy. The bedroom is located in the back of the house and was very quiet, we loved the blackout shades! The bed was comfortable and we slept really well. The wireless also worked great which was helpful in researching directions and places to go. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend Alexander's home.
