The space

The house has 4 bedrooms in TOTAL!

2 Master Bedrooms with their own private complete bathroom w/shower
(Capacity for 2 families in total in the 2 Master Bedrooms)

* 1 Master Bedroom with 1 King Size Bed + 1 extra foldable bed) (max 2 Adults + 1-2 kids)
* 1 Master Bedroom with 1 King Size Bed + 1 additional Bunk bed (1 full size bed & 1 twin size bed). Max 4-5 persons.

On top of that the house has 2 ADDITIONAL BEDROOMS with a SHARED complete bathroom w/shower.
* 1 Bedroom with capacity of 3-4 persons (1 bunk-bed +1 Full-Size bed)
* 1 Bedroom with capacity of 2 persons (1 Full/Queen Size Bed)

The house can easily accommodate 2 families (2 adults/2 kids) and an additional 3-4 persons. (EXTRA CHARGE per night will apply for more than 8 persons)

Guest access

You will have access to the whole house (kitchen, living room, terrace, garden, rooms, bathroom, except for the garage.

No problem with access upon your arrival! The house has a live-in maid who will receive you upon your arrival, and check you in. She will also clean the house daily, but will only change your towels, every two to three nights.

PLEASE NOTE:

Additional / optional maid services (apart from daily cleaning) such as cooking and washing the dishes for you are NOT INCLUDED in the rental price and could be agreed with the maid in person during your stay paying modest ADDITIONAL GRATITUDES to the maid in-person and only cash. However, this applies only if you wish to use the additional services of the maid and is of course optional.

Interaction with guests

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email, call me, or you can always ask the maid. I am not around in the island while you are renting the house, but I am only a phone call, or email away.

Other things to note

Free transport is included in the rental price (minimum stay 2 nights) from the ferry dock in Contadora or Contadora airport to the house.

Getting to Contadora Island:

Ferry:

The island is easily reachable from Panama City through ferry (2 hours and 30 minutes). There are two ferry companies operating ferries to Contadora Island. Ferry Las Perlas which costs $95 round trip per adult / $57 one way per adult, and Sea Las Perlas which costs $90 round trip and $45 one way per adult.

By Plane:

Contadora Island can be reached by airplane (20 minute flight and they have two flights a day) from Panama City with Air Panama and it's about $80.00 round trip/return for an adult.

By Helicopter

You can also reach Contadora Island by helicopter with Heli-Ancon. I'm not sure of the prices, but you can send them an email and enquire.

Estimated Helicopter Flight Times: 1 hour 40 min

We would be glad to help you out with any suggestions / recommendations on what to do on the Island (excursions etc.) and / or any questions you may have regarding your stay on Contadora Island!

There is a permanent medical clinic on the island providing basic medical needs but in case of severe accidents/medical attention you will need to alert the Panamanian authorities who will send a helicopter/airplane to the island to pick up the injured/affected person.

Extra guests

No extra non-paying guests or parties are allowed in the property without prior permission from us. If you do this, you will be asked to leave without a possibility of a refund.

Eating areas / Storing food

You are more than welcome to use the kitchen to cook and the dining table in the terrace to eat as long as you clean up after yourself. Please be aware we do not provide oil, or spices to cook other than salt and pepper (so you need to bring your own when you come). You are also welcome to use the fridge and freezer for your groceries, but please treat it with care (no slamming fridge doors etc) because if anything breaks or gets damaged, it will be deducted from your deposit. Thank you.

Cleaning procedures

Please wash all the dishes and pans after you’ve finished using them and leave them in the drying rack in the kitchen. The maid will do general cleaning in the house, but not do everything for you all the time, unless you pay her an additional fee.

Checking out / Keys

Check out is at 11:00 AM usually (but I can be a bit flexible depending if I have another rental straight after yours or not). When you leave, please make sure the house is not left alone and the maid is there.

Please under no circumstances, leave the house unattended when you leave. If you are unsure, don’t be afraid to text us or ask us how to do it.

Important:

Please report any damage occasioned by yourself in the house immediately to the maid.

Most Importantly:

Please feel at home, we want you to leave thinking 'What a great idea Airbnb is - I will never stay in a hotel again!’ so if you are unsure about anything during your stay, don’t be afraid to just give me a call or message me.

We were a group of 5 friends and stayed 2 nights. The view and location of the house were superb and we enjoyed that. Unfortunetly there were several things we did not like and I think that those were absolute no-go’s. The villa is quite run down, could definitely need a renovation. In the Terrace room the ceiling lamps/fans did not work, so the first evening in search of a light switch,I stumbled twice over the stairs and hurt my foot. In it’s adjacent bathroom the floor was wet due to a leaking toilet. The horrible bad/foul smell from the drainage/watersystem was in all bathrooms/kitchen. Brushing teeth in the morning with this stinky water was disgusting! One room’s bed sheets had traces of make up, obviously the linen were not change after usage. The second evening we ran out of (tap)water, I told it to the housekeeper, who lives in the house which we were not informed of and I thought she had fixed this problem. The next morning there was no water at all, not even for flushing the toilets or making tea…which was also not possible because the gas bottle was empty. The housekeeper did not know how to fix these problems and I told her to get somebody quick and solve these problems. I ended up helping to refill the water tank with buckets of water…. Furthermore the house can host 12 persons, so I really wonder why there was so little water and gas, we were only 5 persons and used everything normally. Later on I talked with the owner on the phone and we agreed to a compensation in form of a monetary refund which we wanted to negotiate via email. I have sent him three emails and never gotten a response.

The place is absolutely beautiful. Michael was extremely patient with us we had passport issues and he was very flexible and understanding. We also had help when we landed with bag to get to the house which was very helpful. Having AC was a blessing. The view and walk to the private beach in front of the house was amazing. So so nice.
