This cozy, small colonial house in an up-and-coming neighborhood just minutes from Center City. Ideally, it's great for just one person who may be traveling and needs a place to crash for one or a few nights. Close to: public transit, bike share, Rittenhouse Square, University City (Penn and Drexel)
** I do not discriminate on any basis -- all are welcome!! **
I live in a small colonial house which you will have total access to while you're staying here (with the exception of my own room, of course). The guest room itself is small with a good-sized closet, dresser and writing desk. It also comes with an ironing board, iron, extra sheets, blankets, towels and toiletries.
Guests have access to anything in the house.
*Kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator (help yourself to beer!)
*Large Bathroom (shared with me) with shower, bath, etc.
*Living room with TV (Amazon Fire with Netflix and local HD channels)
*Washer & Dryer in basement (free!)
*Dining room table
*Back patio with chairs
Interaction with guests
I'm a quiet, keep to myself kind of guy. But I do love talking about Philly, so feel free to ask questions! Don't be offended if you don't see me too much, because I tend to keep to myself and travel a lot :)
That being said, I definitely want to be available if you have any questions. I prefer text or email, which I will have access to all day at work. I am home most weeknights.
Other things to note
The house is directly across the street from an Elementary School and its play yard. Just keep in mind there will be families and children playing throughout the day and evening. Not that I would assume my guests would do anything nefarious of course, but just thought it's a good thing to mention! Parents use the street in front of the house to drop off kids around 8:30AM and again at 3PM. So it can get very noisy around those times. The good thing is the guest bedroom is in the back of the house, so if you're sleeping at those times you won't be bothered by the noise.
One of my neighbors recently acquired a parrot. It's friendly, but it does make some interesting noises, and even speaks at times. It's quiet at night and rather quirky and funny, and I've not found that it's bothered anyone yet.
I'm totally cool with pets as long as they're quiet. I'm not a smoker and would prefer that you don't smoke on the back patio when I'm here.
I'm not much of a party guy during the week-- and work Monday through Friday 9-5ish. So I would prefer that things are quiet at night. On the weekend, I'll go out and spend time with friends and maybe get home late. So I'm cool with that kind of stuff on the weekend, within reason.
Young professional in Philadelphia, loving city life.
You can usually catch me biking or walking around the city, I never like to stay in one place. Enjoy all types of food but have a special love for Italian.
I know a lot of people say this, but I truly enjoy doing the stuff that locals do when traveling and really feeling like I live there, which is why Airbnb seems so great. That being said, I don't mind doing the tourist stuff too!
