Kingfisher cottage is a beautiful house with Ruby being a fantastic host. The house is really clean and has everything you need. The pedalo is a really nice touch where we were able to see the rest of the lake. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to come out to Cape Town. Will definitely be staying here next time we come over.

Ruby's place is wonderful. Ideally situated for checking out the surroundings. All kitchen facillities are present and we were enthousiastic for being able to use the braai. And of course we wouldn't have missed the trip on the 'pedalo'! Highly recommended!

We stayed at Ruby's place for three nights. As we hadn't hired a car, which was quite unusual apparently, we walked to Muizenberg and Kalk Bay every day which was quite doable, really! Comfy twin bed, and cute ducks in the morning.

We loved the peacefulness and practicality of the place, and it's beautiful setting close to nature. It was well-equipped and very spacious. Ruby and family are a delight, and tended to our every need. We hope to visit this gorgeous, relaxing spot on our next trip to the area. A real "at home" feeling.

Just awesome. Away from the city but in the heart of the southern shores. A great getaway. And we loved the pedalo!!

We can really recommend this beautiful place!! Water just outside your window, a nice patio, barbecue, sun beds, pool, DVD, good kitchen, secluded enough, good tips from Ruby, really good location as it is close to (with car) the beach, the supermarket, hiking, Muizenberg. Ruby is a great host! Steve loves the paddle boat, and you will too.

A perfect location, right on the canal. The pedalo was easy to access and my wife and I had great fun pedalling around the marina. Ruby was an excellent hostess, organising keys was easy, the cottage was spacious and spotlessly clean, parking was easy and a 3 minute ride gets you to the beach and excellent restaurants. We highly recommend this place and hope to go back soon!

For the past 28 years I have been running accommodation establishments in Claremont and Marina da Gama Cape Town. Meeting so many wonderful people from all parts of the world is the fun part of the job and I love it. In my spare time I love hiking in the mountains, swimming in the sea, gardening, reading and theatre going. We have just returned from the Kruger National Park - a very special destination we have enjoyed over many years.
