John was a delightful host. He is charming and funny, and he makes you feel at home. The house itself is quite cluttered, which makes it hard to keep clean (particularly concerning dust and mold). Anyone with allergies will have a hard time getting comfortable. The breakfast was hearty and delicious.
We had a lovely stay. If your looking for something genuine with one of the nicest and interesting hosts then stay here. John is the first to admit it might not be for all, particularly the overly precious, however for those that stay won't be disappointed. John is a genuine character and a gentleman. The rooms are rustic and authentic. The art and antiques in the dining room are impressive also. The breakfast was top notch (he used to be a chef!) and included eggs from his own chickens.
We had a wonderful experience. John is very kind and we won't forget this place full of personality. A cup of tea when we arrived and a marvellous breakfast. Thank you so much John. We won't forget you !
