Sleeps 8 comfortably. We have 3 double bedrooms and comfortable daybed in the second sitting room. Plenty of communal space , conservatory and garden with fire pit/BBQ.
We offer B&B outside school holidays.

Grey Cottage is a lovingly restored 220 year old property on the edge of the village. We are on the side of a south facing hill over looking a wooded valley just 10 minutes walk down a country lane to the sea. The house is bright and airy and furnished with a selection of furnishings collected over many years. Your hostess, Julia, has a love of making and restoring things, including a lot of re-upholstery.
The house is great for all seasons, with central heating, electric blankets and a log burner to keep you cosy in winter and lends it self well to small house parties and special family occasions.
Chef Julia, can offer a full catering service if you would like freedom from kitchen duties. Please call to discuss.
If you rent the whole cottage, you will have the use of bedrooms as listed above. The main bathroom has a wonderful 6ft roll top bath. There are two sitting rooms. The 32ft main sitting-room has upholstered seating around the log burner and dining table and dresser at the other end. The blue sitting room is a quiet space with day bed which makes up to a comfortable 5ft double if you need extra beds. Both sitting rooms have LED TVs with freesat reception. A DVD and sound system with ipod dock is available. The house has wifi broadband in most areas. Mobile signal can be a bit flaky depending on provider, but most work at the front of the house. For emergencies a phone is available in our apartment.
If renting the whole house you will have exclusive use of the well kitted out guest kitchen and laundry facilities.
As a B&B guest you will have access to hot drink making facilities and laundry on request.
The conservatory and terraced garden are available to all guests.
There is parking for up to three cars.
Interaction with guests
Owners, Julia and Peter with jack Russell Millie live in the adjoining apartment. If you rent the whole house you will see very little of us except meeting you on arrival, us walking the dog and occasional gardening. We do offer a catering facility. Julia is a chef of many years experience.
If you book for B&B, you will see a bit more of us, cooking and serving breakfast and servicing your room, lighting fires and generally keeping things tidy. We will retire to our own apartment for the evening and you will have exclusive use of the guest sitting and dining areas.
Peter is a font of local information on walks, natural history and attractions.
Other things to note
We welcome well behaved dogs, one or two, but ask that they do not go in bedrooms. If they are in the habit of sitting on furniture(ours does), please let us know and we will put throws over sofas etc.
If damage occurs or excessive cleaning is required we will ask for this to be paid for or in the case of a full house let it will be taken from your damage deposit.
The house is totally No Smoking. If you need to smoke in the garden please dispose of the evidence.
Normal domestic civility applies and don't do anything that will get me arrested!
If you are renting the whole house we will send instructions with terms and conditions and the person making the booking will be deamed responsible for the safety of their guests and looking after the house.
From Dec 21, 2017 - Jan 02, 2018 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
