Recently remodeled, on peaceful tree-lined street. 10-min walk to Subway, LIRR train & bus. Four people can comfortably relax w/2 large bedrooms at opposite ends of apartment, new bath, kitchen w/breakfast nook! Legal under NY's recent homeshare law.

The space

Recently renovated with vintage charm! Beautiful hardwood floors throughout, new kitchen appliances with built-in breakfast nook, living room fully stocked for relaxation. Two sunny bedrooms on opposite ends of the apartment, featuring comfortable beds (one King, one Queen) with all new bedding. Clean bathroom with refinished cast iron tub/shower. Apartment is ideal for four guests; there is also an inflatable mattress and sleeper couch to accommodate larger parties on a case-by-case basis.

Guest access

Guests have exclusive access to the entire apartment, which is on the first floor of a two-family home. There is wireless internet, Wii, and Sony Playstation to access Amazon,* Netflix,* and Apple TV* (* means you need your own account to access)

Interaction with guests

If I am home when you arrive or we meet in the hallway, I will be delighted to welcome you. Even if we don't see each other, I am available anytime via email or text to answer questions or address any issues that arise during your stay. The apartment is set up so that guests can easily come and go as you please.

Other things to note

The house is centrally heated, but there are supplemental heating and air conditioning units in the bedrooms that can be turned on and adjusted for comfort if needed. Several rooms also feature ceiling fans. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, blender, hand mixer, utensils, napkins, and pantry staples. New York City water is safe to drink, and some say quite good. Bottled water is available within walking distance.

You may have read about New York's recent homesharing law that penalizes advertising apartments in large buildings (three or more units) and if the host is not present. This listing is legal under that law because it is in a two-family home and the host lives in the apartment upstairs.

I hope people treat my house with respect and care. I have a (friendly) cat who lives in a separate apartment upstairs and requests that you please leave your pet at home. I am OK with reasonable noise levels, laughter, screaming kids, and vacation excitement.
There is no smoking anywhere in the house. (If you smoke in the house, you will be asked to leave and your security deposit will be used to clean the apartment thoroughly.)
Recycling in New York City is mandatory (The city levies large fines for noncompliance!) , so there are separate bins in the kitchen for paper, plastic/metal and trash, and corresponding bins in front of the house.
Please do not flush anything except toilet paper down the toilet (no paper towels, baby wipes, feminine hygeine products, goldfish, etc.)

This was our first Airbnb experience, and David and Kate didn't disappoint. Our family of five arrived to a warm, extremely clean apartment that was exactly as described, and included a welcome basket, food and drinks in the fridge, and an extra bed made up as requested. They are lovely hosts, greeting us at 2am after out late arrival, and kept in touch before and throughout the visit. The locality is handy to transport, with good local shops, restaurants and groceries stores. It's very quiet with no night time noise, and the neighborhood feels very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 night say, and thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Really enjoyed staying at this apartment. Nice and spacious and comfortable. Just what we needed after long hot days charging around the city which is only a short subway ride away. Definitely recommend

A perfect positioned apartment for a trip to new york. A 5 minute walk to the closest subway then 15 mins max into central manhatten. Apartment is exactly as pictured. Beds are comfy, everything very clean. Loads of games, puzzles and online entertainment to keep you busy. David was a great host and i would have no problem staying there again.

David was an incredibly gracious host. He made himself available if needed, but he stayed invisible otherwise. My friend and I stayed for 19 days, and it was the perfect spot for us. The home itself is very clean and well-maintained. Almost all of the necessities are here, including pots/pans, some condiments in the fridge, and linens. There are also things like shower gel and shampoo (likely left from previous guests). Even though we didn't need/use them, it was good to know they were there. The split unit air conditioning units in the bedrooms are excellent. Once they cool the room, they hold temperature beautifully. It was great for the beginning of our trip when it was very hot. Woodside is a good location with regards to bang for your buck and proximity to Manhattan. I needed to be close to Flushing, so it was ideal for me to have the best of both worlds. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. There are plenty of things in walking distance, including a laundromat on Roosevelt (on the way to the 7 train). David truly cares about his guests, so he does his best to ensure you have a comfortable stay. So if you are looking to visit NYC, this is a good place to be.

David's is a great host! The apt was the perfect size for two couples and a baby. I'm sure a couple more people could have fairly easy as well. It's only a five-minute walk to the train station and a 15 to 20-minute ride into Manhattan. It was a great experience.
