If you're the kind of traveler that loves to be at the heart of a city, look no further. Porto is at your doorstep here - you'll love being able to walk out the door and find everything within walking distance or a cheap tram ride away.
We love our place and have decorated it with care and lots of personal touches. And we are the sole owners and caretakers, so we make sure your stay will be managed by us, in the true spirit of AirBnB!

This classic, 200-year-old flat was the birthplace in 1875 of Portuguese author Joaquim Antunes Leitão, and has protected status. It has 2 bedrooms and can house 4 people comfortably as it has a little over 100 sq. meters. It’s in a superb, central location, which is perfect if you want to stay in the heart of Porto. Just minutes away from the best shopping areas, restaurants, monuments, buses, trams and metro, this flat is particularly suited for people who like to be at the center of city life. You’ll be within walking distance of lively bars, cafes and eateries to join in with the locals as well as visitors from around the world! We don’t have any TVs or other entertainment in the place because there is so much else to do just out the door! We are in a lively part of town so we have double-glazed windows throughout the flat to insure maximum comfort for our guests, but some street noise is unavoidable.
Important: Please note that the listed price is for 1 or 2 people using one bedroom (each bedroom has one queen-sized bed). If 2 people come and they each want their own bedroom, we will charge an additional 20 euros for extra linen cleaning charges to be paid upon arrival.
The entire flat is at your disposal – enjoy its funky, personalized décor and treat it with loving care!
Interaction with guests
We really love our city and all it has to offer and will be happy to share our local knowledge with you – whether you're looking for a great place to eat fresh grilled fish or a stroll along the beachfront, we can help point you in the right direction.
Basically, we just ask that you respect the space and get the most out of your time spent in the flat. If you are a smoker, we also ask that you kindly smoke outdoors or open one of the large kitchen windows where there is a small balcony to smoke from.
Teresa and I have lived and travelled in many countries so we know how important it is to feel welcomed when arriving in a new place. Teresa grew up in Tras-os-Montes in the north of Portugal and I am originally from San Francisco in the U.S. Our professional backgrounds are in the field of education. Teresa owned and operated her own Montessori pre-school in Porto for 20 years and I taught at the local Universidade Catolica Portuguesa. We lived in Asia for 5 years where Teresa learned the art of Chinese brush painting. You will see her paintings and other Asian touches in the decoration of our apartment.. I love taking my bicycle for a ride along the river or down the coast, stopping to eat freshly grilled fish at a local restaurant. I also like playing golf on the local courses around the Porto area. And a great habit I picked up in Asia is the art of tea drinking – I love the ceremony around tea and can’t go a day without my Puer or Oolongs. Teresa loves to paint and read in her spare time and has studied color therapy.
We enjoy hosting and meeting people from all over the world. So come and share a glass of Port wine with us and spend some time in our fantastic city!
