About this listing
Incredibly spacious & versatile wide open loft space. 1500 sq ft of awesomeness. Complete with a lofted bedroom, huge balcony, indoor hammock, movie projector & much more. Located in the Pilsen neighborhood full of great restaurants & vibrant nightlife.
I love this place so much. It's enormous, open, and close to so many options for a genuine Chicago experience.
Exposed beams and distressed hardwood floors, immediate access to the outdoors on the huge balcony, and a view of the Sears --ahem-- 'Willis' Tower from bed.
As a photographer, the open floor plan allows me to have huge studio photo shoots or whittle back the studio setup and just have lots of room to breathe and live.
I have customized the loft to make it as versatile as possible and provide private areas in a space that is otherwise completely open. (See photos of lots of curtains).
As it stands, I have a comfy bed for 2 (full sized) in the lofted bedroom, a designer couch for 1 in the curtained off living room/2nd bedroom and 2 full-size beds in the additional 'bedroom' area as well. And, of course, the hammock.
The place is all yours for as long as your stay lasts. You'll have access to the second floor balcony which is shared with myself and another neighbor. The balcony overlooks a private courtyard area which you are also free to use.
Interaction with guests
I'm available via text and email around the clock. Depending on when you are coming to stay, I will do everything I can to meet you personally, but if it's not possible, the keys will be either place in a lockbox or handed off by a trusted friend. I'll also be sure to provide loads of info on how best to get around, options of what to do and see while you're here and detailed instructions on how to use any of the items in the house that may require additional explanation like the digital movie projector or the juicer.
Other things to note
Smoking indoors is not cool. Smoking on the balcony is totally fine, just use a bottle or can for butts.

Just be respectful. My neighbors are close friends and we treat each other and the shared spaces with respect and are always considerate of everyone else in the building. That being said, there's never a need to tiptoe or worry about playing music at a reasonable volume. Have fun and use good judgment.
I'm an outgoing and friendly freelance photographer. In my photography work I focus mainly on travel, live music, interior design and architecture as well as various other forms of commercial photography to keep the bills paid.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Chicago 11 years ago. Aside from a few months spent in Nicaragua after college, a few months in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a month in Tokyo in 2015, I've stayed and absolutely loved living in Chicago. Other travels have included Prague, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Panama, Costa Rica, Japan, Uruguay, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and I'm gearing up for a very exciting few weeks photographing and filming in Kenya and Rwanda for a documentary series about extraordinary women doing great things around the world.
I enjoy cooking but not as much as I like going out to dinner. I am equally as comfortable in a dive bar drinking cheap beer at the pool table as I am in a high end restaurant drinking fine wine and whiskey. Though, in an ideal world I would be sipping fine wine or whiskey at the dive bar pool table.
I see A LOT of live music, partially because I photograph a lot of musician portraits and live concerts for various publications, but ultimately just because I enjoy many types of music very much.
I love meeting new people from all over the world and hope we get to meet very soon.
