Fantastic view, cozy and homy. Thanks Ann and Mike for their lovely hospitality, breakfast is scrumptious too. Will definitely return if we drop by waikato again.

I cannot say enough good things about Ann and Mike. After many flight delays, we arrived at Lake Edge several hours after we expected. Ann and Mike did EVERYTHING to make us feel welcome, including have a snack for the weary travelers. The accommodations were wonderful and VERY clean. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and New Zealand in general. As a bonus, we didn't realize that Mike runs the kayak tour to see the glow worms and the gathering place was in our backyard. (Highly recommend the glow worm tour). The grounds are beautiful, and eating the yummy breakfast while looking out on the river was very relaxing. Thank you Ann and Mike for everything--including the chocolate cake that was enjoyed by our glow wormers after the trip down the river.

Ann and Mike's house is definitely in our top 3 places to stay at in New Zealand! The house and the surroundings are just gorgeous, with a very nice view on the lake. Only 15 minutes drive away from Hobbiton or Matamata's city centre. Our only regret was that we stayed there for one night only. Had we known, we would have planned our honeymoon trip differently and stayed at least one more night to enjoy the garden and the view on the lake! Ann and Mike are truly nice people and it was great chatting with them in the evening. The breakfast is a feast too! Don't worry about getting bored, Mike will give you suggestions of activities around, but definitely stay there at least 2 nights!
