This is an excellent location for access to JHU. Esther was a great host.

Great location, nice dogs but don't tend to interact if ester is not there. Older building with narrow stairs. More private then a shared dorm room and very close to JHU campus. Cooling system has some issues with the hottest days.

Esther was very helpful and informative about the town and amenities. She is very friendly and has two cute dogs, and it was a pleasure to meet her personally. However I experienced some cleanliness issues in my room which wasn't expecting, especially regarding the floors and closets. There was a lot of dust and hair combined with dust on the floor, around the bed and underneath the bed. The closets were very dusty and not cleaned for a while. The chair in the picture doesn't match the real chair that was there and it was kind of broken. The price was kind of high for a room with this situation.

Response from Esther:
I personally cleaned and dusted this room and mopped the floors before this guest moved in.I did the same for the closet so am little surprised that he did not find it (URL HIDDEN) the time of move-in it had been thoroughly cleaned and dusted so perhaps some of the dust formed during his stay.

I stayed at Esther's place for 3 months while completing a rotation at Hopkins. I really enjoyed staying here because I was able to take the free JHU shuttle to the hospital. Also, Esther was very helpful when I needed assistance with where to park my car on the street. Her house is in a great location and I always felt very safe.

I feel that the photos and descriptions are accurate. The photos were taken by airbnb.I don't understand what could have been construed as inaccurate in my description.I described exactly what is there. Regarding cleanliness,I have the common areas professionally cleaned every several weeks. On a day to day level I and the guests all clean up common areas as they uses them. The individual rooms are each guest''s personal responsibility. If a room becomes dusty the guest is welcome to dust it and I provide any cleaning implements and products that are needed.

Esther is an amazing host. She really is the nicest, and she's always there if you need. She has two super cute and peaceful dogs, I'm gonna miss them so much! The house is very large and comfortable, the room has all the furniture you might need, and everything is clean. The neighborhood is the best concerning safety and essentials. I had the best time there!

Simply do not think twice about booking this room and here is why: 1) Safety: JH security and police patrol 24/7 and every time I went out or came back to the house I would find a security officer within a few meters proximity. 2) Everything you need is less than 2 mins away (not exaggerating): do you want to take the bus? bus stop just across the street. You want to eat? not less than 5 restaurants from chipotle to subway to Pizza studio to indian/japanese/chinese/korean cuisine .. all just 1 to 5 mins away. Coffee? Starbucks just 1 block away!! Grocery? there's a market just across the street and another one 1 block away. Any business in JHU? its on the parallel street along with the (URL HIDDEN) Hair Salon? .. you get my point 3) Comfortable Room and House: The bed is so comfortable I'm gonna miss it so much. The room has all the furniture you might need. The kitchen has all the equipment you might need. the dining table has a nice garden view, used to study there everyday, very peaceful. Believe me it will feel just like home. 4) Esther: What a lovely host, always there if you need her, respects your privacy and is open to conversations. 5) Dogs: if you are a dog lover, this is a bonus for you because they are the cutest AND if you are indifferent/afraid of dogs, they are the most peaceful dogs I've ever seen, you surely wont mind them. I'm sure there are many more reasons that I can't think of right now, but I'm so glad I have chosen this place, it has made my experience in Baltimore all the more lovely. I would strongly recommend anyone who has any business in Medstar Union Memorial Hospital (as in my case) to book a room in this house because it is honestly the best place you could find safety and location wise.

Esther was a great host. She made me feel very welcome. I come from a conservative family, so the environment in the house was very friendly and appropriate for me. The house is quiet as well, so it's good for those who are students, doctors etc. The house is just like the pictures. The neighborhood is one of the best in regards to safety, ease of transport and closeness to the essentials. The people there are typically students of Johns hopkins University. I had rotations at Johns Hopkins hospital and I personally know three people who are in the same area.
