A charming, small, comfortable apartment on a quiet street in Ganges, the Island's main town. Leave your car behind and walk to the famous Saturday market. Discover local artists in the galleries, visit unique shops, enjoy casual or gourmet dining.

The space

The small garden apartment has a bedroom with a queen sized bed, fine cotton/linen bedding and goosedown comforter. In the sitting/dining area are two comfortable armchairs where you can relax and read or listen to your own music on the bluetooth speaker. The tiny kitchen is very well equipped with everything you might need to make simple meals. Coffee and a range of teas are provided. The apartment accommodates 2 adults.

Guest access

The owners live on the property. The guest suite is very private with its own entrance as well as its own outdoor garden spaces. Guests have exclusive use of a small outdoor patio with a gas BBQ and also a garden area for relaxing in the shade of an old apple tree.

Interaction with guests

I may or may not be present during guest stays but there will always be someone to welcome you and answer your questions. There is also information in the studio about the town and the island to help you make the most of your time here.

The Garden Suite is very cosy and set in a very scenic area. It was an easy walk into the main part of Ganges. The apartment was well equipped and organised, with lots of artistic little touches that worked well with the feel of the Island. It was very quiet and peaceful, a very relaxing space.

We loved this place! Perfectly situated for walking around Ganges and visiting the fabulous Saturday Market. Isabel's place has so many thoughtful touches. For example, the kitchen is tiny but has everything you could want from adorable teapots to lovely pottery plates to toaster oven and infrared hot plate. There are books, games, puzzles, DVDs, cable TV, candles, lovely shampoo, lotion, and soap. The whole place is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

This guest suite is exactly as represented. There were numerous small touches which made my stay comfortable and relaxing. The small deck is private and lovely. The location is out of the busy area, but it is easy to access. The suite is smaller, but I think perfect for 1 or 2 people for a shorter stay.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and extremely well equipped and supplied. What more could you ask for? We were very pleased with the private setting, the close in, convenient location, private off street parking and appointments that Isabel built into this delightful spot.

Ishbel's guest cottage was a lovely, quiet place to stay while exploring all the wonders of Salt Spring Island. The location is ideal for walking to all the galleries and restaurants in Ganges, and it's an easy drive to the nearby parks and beaches. The cottage had everything (and more) that we needed to relax and refresh after full days of hiking and exploring, including a couple of hummingbirds who delighted us with regular visits in the yard. We really appreciated all the information Ishbel provided about the island's natural and cultural attractions, plus her helpful instructions about everything from emergency contacts to recycling. Our stay at Ishbel's was one of our best Airbnb experiences, and we can't wait to return.

I'm a retired university teacher, originally from the UK, but more than half my life has been spent in Canada, first in Montreal and more recently Vancouver. I have travelled widely and lived and worked in the UK, Canada, the US and Japan. I am interested in history, current affairs and culture and have enjoyed some great Airbnb stays in apartments in Budapest and Buenos Aires. Now retired on Salt Spring Island, I spend my time gardening, cooking, reading and exploring this special place. I look forward to sharing it with guests .
