Ground level condo w/fireplace, large kitchen, two bathrooms, ocean balcony. Living room gives sweeping view of beach and oceanfront. Kitchen complete with dishwasher and dishes for a crowd! Wifi and 50 easy steps to the beach make this a fun place for mixed generations to enjoy! Oceanfront bedroom has queen bed and balcony. Remaining two bedrooms on street side are large and nautically-themed; one has a king-size bed, the other, a queen-size.

No smoking in the condo. No pets.

The space

Captain's Quarters is one of eight condos in our building. Since it is perched on the low sea cliff, we can enjoy winter storms and balmy summer breezes in the condo. Or campfires and long walks on the beach. An oceanfront condo with a fireplace is the best place to be in the world! Cuddle up to the fireplace, or step outside onto the ocean balcony, and enjoy the amazing sight and sound of the mighty Pacific!

The condo is equipped with basic spices (salt, pepper, garlic salt, lemon pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasoning) plus oil and oil spray. We also have coffee filters, and an adequate array of cooking pans, pots, bowls, a crock pot, blender, waffle iron, casserole dishes, and utensils. If something you need is missing, please ask Mike the manager...he is very good at finding just what you want!

Two bedrooms have queen beds, and a third has a king-size. The couch in the front room also folds out into a queen-size bed. So this two bathroom condo sleeps 8 quite easily! Please let us know at time of booking the number of guests in your party, since our rates are based on occupancy, and Mike the manager does count noses :)

For your planning purposes: our rates are based on occupancy. Extra guests over the number of two cost only $10/person/night, and are quoted in your price when you include the total persons in your party. This makes our condo affordable for couples or families. If you arrive with additional guests who are undeclared, our extra person charge is $20/person/night.

Guest access

Location, location, location! Captain's Quarters has the exploding horizon of sand and surf, which is always interesting, no matter the weather. No more beachfront is being made, so this unique cliffside condo with a fabulous view is a treasure to us.

Beach access is 50 gentle steps with one rail down to beach, or you can actually DRIVE down the ramp to the sand! During April - Sept, many people like to park their cars on the beach (right below the condo) when the tide is out! But twice a day, the tide rolls in, and clears everybody out!!!

Bring your own BBQ to enjoy at the beach, or bring some starter wood to light a campfire on the beach! (The driftwood is often wet and hard to start without dry wood from home!).

Interaction with guests

Mike and Rosie are the on-site managers and very helpful. At the time of booking, you can access AirBnb's House Manual, which contains my Welcome Letter and access info. With that, you can let yourself into our condo anytime after 4 pm :)

Other things to note

This is a vacation rental condo. In an effort to offer an awesome beach experience at a minimal price, we provide clean towels and linens for each guest's stay, but we do not have daily housekeeping, nor provide daily clean towels.

We do provide bath soap bars, complimentary shampoo and conditioner in separate bottles, as well as complimentary coffee for a day or two (depending on how much one consumes :)

Two night minimum stay. It takes one night to unwind and relax, and the second night to really enjoy yourself! Plus, we are busy enough that we can't push our housekeeping staff to clean any faster!

The lodging tax of 11.1% is already included in the nightly rate.

For the shoppers in your group, Tanger Mall on Highway 101 in Lincoln city has name-brand outlet shopping for those who wish to cruise the shops, as well as many antique stores and curio shops.

The Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center is just 2 miles north, with an indoor golf resort, seafood dining, concerts and entertainment, and 23 table games.

Bring some firewood and starter and enjoy a campfire on the beach. It's state-owned property and perfectly legal without any permit!

'Keep the fire small as a lawn chair and west of the vegetation line and extinquish with water, not sand.' (Oregon State Parks rules)

Bring roasting sticks and marshmallows and hotdogs and you'll have a very fun and memorable meal :)

Chinook Winds Casino operates a shuttle bus, which comes right past our condo. Call the driver at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) to schedule pickup. The shuttle services 42 hotels in town, so they do not stop in front of each place, especially if it's raining! But if you call the driver, he knows to look for you. The shuttle leaves the casino every hour, on the hour. and traverses Lincoln City down to the south end of town to Mo's Restaurant at 51st St, then returns on NW Harbor (our street). Operates weekends only: Fri/Sat 4pm-2am, Sun 4 pm-midnight.

The local Chamber of Commerce sponsors a fun program called 'Finders Keepers' and annually hides 3000 hand blown glass sand dollars and Japanese sea floats along the 7 1/2 miles of Lincoln City beach! Be sure to walk the beach in front of your condo and look along the cliffs and among the grass and driftwood for these valuable collector items!

Devils Lake, deep only in terms of historic folklore, is 1/3 mile wide, 3 miles long, and reaches a depth of only 22 feet. Nine species of freshwater fish beckon the fisherman, while water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, knee-boarding and jet skiing engage other sports enthusiasts. Flowing from Devils Lake is the 'D' River, which holds the title of one of the World's Shortest Rivers. From its source at Devils Lake, the river reaches its destination of the Pacific is a mere 120 feet.

Just 30 miles south is the town of Newport on Yaquina Bay, with it's working fleet of fishing vessels, plus sea lions basking on the docks and dozens of quaint bayfront shops and curio stores and restaurants.

World-famous Oregon Coast Aquarium is also located in Newport, as well as the Maritime Museum and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Your days will be delightful, whether beach combing for glass floats or shopping or dining or reading in front of the fireplace!

Beach house was clean, cozy, centrally located and ocean front...can’t get any better! We were greeted by Mike and he turned on the fireplace for us and made us feel at home. Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Lincoln City.

Response from Dan And Teresa & Family:
Thanks for your review. The window behind TV has now been repaired. We stock our kitchen with all the amenities we find useful: towels, mugs, flatware, tableware, electric mixer, blender, measuring cups and spoons, baking sheets and pans, pots and pans, bowls, spices, oil. We are always happy to hear suggestions to improve our stock.

Perfect for the 4 of us, my brother and his wife had the king bed, I had a queen bed and my mom had the queen with the ocean view and balcony. The view was amazing from bedroom and living room. 2 bathrooms was great to have, the location is central to everything. I liked being able to stay off 101 and still get around easily. Mike is super knowledgeable about the area and very helpful.

We had an excellent stay at Dan & Teresa's place. It was great for our needs (travelling with a baby) and the views cannot be beat. Lots of food options, hikes and other activities in the vicinity. The very easy beach access was fantastic. The hosts were very quick with communication, and the building manager was very helpful with questions. Would love to come back sometime!

Spectacular view of the ocean was awesome. Comfortable beds in all three bedrooms, very nice for our girlfriend reunion. Was a bit chilly one night so it was great to turn on the fireplace and watch the waves from the comfy chairs.
