Our home is perfect for parties of up to 7 guests who want to stay together in the heart of downtown Santa Fe. The kitchen, three bedrooms and two patios make it perfect for family gatherings or a group of friends.

The space

Our home is perfectly located for a Santa Fe vacation. Walk to dozens of downtown Santa Fe restaurants or cook in our kitchen, fully stocked with staples if you care to buy your own food to fix from several near by grocery stores. In warmer weather, the patio or porch provide a beautiful view of the Santa Fe skies.

The house has Internet and Direct TV.

You will have access to our entire home. There are three dedicated bedrooms. One has a king bed; the other two each have a queen-sized bed. There is a fourth office where we can put a queen futon.

We will always have a contact person to help you get settled or to answer questions. Information about the house is listed in a manual in the house. However, we may sneak away when you come visit, since we are travelers just like you.

Santa Fe is one of the most beautiful places on earth. With sun most days, and high mountain desert temperatures, it is a great get away. Please note that we are at 7000 feet, so it is typically not hot. It frequently snows in the winter. Summers are cooler than many places. The house has a cross breeze and fans, but no air conditioner. We love the open air aspect of the house.

Downtown Santa Fe is a walking town. The plaza is a 10 minutes walk from our house. If you want to explore the surrounding areas, it is best to have a car. Skiing is 20 minutes away, Indian ruins are an hour away, hiking is nearby. In the summer, the opera house is a ten minute drive.

A few things for you to consider:

In our experience, there are two kinds of Airbnb places- those that are vacation units and those that are people's homes. The first is more like a hotel, the second more personal and unusual. You might think about which you prefer. We live here and are happy to share our home with you. However, it is not separated from the environment like a hotel. There are a few things to note.

The home was built in the 1950s, and is a historic Stamm home built by a local well-known builder at the time. It has a traditional New Mexico flair, and is unique and comfortable. The home has the original vigas and kiva fireplace. Because it was built in the 1950s, it is also quirky. All windows are original, so some don't work perfectly. There some notes in the house about how things work, and we are always available to answer questions.

While we live here, we have purchased guest sheets and towels for our Airbnb guests. There is tankless hot water, so hot water is unlimited. There is a new dishwasher and gas oven and a repainted kitchen. We are always looking to upgrade our home to make it more comfortable.

We have dogs and sometimes a visiting cat or two. They will not be there when you are, but if you have extraordinary allergies to either, you should know that they live here at times.

The house and garden are inviting to the local critters. In the summer if you leave food out, you will invite the ants in. Lizards and mice live near the garden walls. Raccoons have been known to wander through our yard at night looking for bird seed, so we don't put out bird seed. The summer moths, attracted to the light, sometimes come in the windows in the evening. The hummingbirds come to the feeder on the porch and look into the kitchen windows.

If this looks like the place for you, we would love to have you. We often work to accommodate our guests and have made room early for the grandma who showed up with groceries or the guest who had to take an early flight to escape weather in her hometown. We love it, and hope you will, too.

Guest access

You will have access to our entire home. As mentioned above, we have three dedicated bedrooms (king, queen and queen) and a fourth room where a queen futon can be placed.

The house is not handicapped equipped. There are 7 steps to get into the house, and the baths are not modified for handicap access. There is one bath tub and a shower with a small step to enter.

Interaction with guests

We will always have a contact person to help you get settled or to answer questions. Information about the house is listed in a manual in the house. However, we may sneak away when you come visit, since we are travelers just like you.

Other things to note

Please note that we have dogs and sometimes a visiting cat or two. They will not be there when you are, but if you have extraordinary allergies to either, you should know that they live there at times.

The house is fully stocked with staples if you care to buy your own food to cook from a near by grocery store.

Please see the house overview in "the space" section above for other things to note.

My family and I ( including my dog) had a wonderful stay in Santa Fe at Julia's home. We enjoyed being in a very convenient location, within close walking distance to the plaza and restaurants, and spending time in all 3 outdoor patio areas. The house is charming, clean and cozy. Julia was very helpful, checking in before and on arrival, and even mailing us an earring that we left behind.

The pictures do not do justice to the charm and comfort of Julia's home. Located just a few short blocks from the plaza, even closer to a free shuttle stop, and a short drive to grocery stores, it is hard to imagine a more convenient location. In spite of being so central it was a quiet side road where we could open up the windows at night and not be kept awake by noise. Our bedrooms were all comfortable and clean. We all enjoyed the outdoor spaces, living room, and breakfast nook. Our rather large family party was able to spend time with each other in these spaces, cooking and relaxing, and truly felt at ease and at home. Julia was so gracious as we booked and prepared for our trip, answering a barrage of questions, and checking in to make sure we had a smooth arrival. We were so fortunate to stay here. It helped make our time in Santa Fe memorable and magical!
