Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Charming artist retreat in the heart of West Asheville. A light-filled, uplifting atmosphere with colorful, whimsical decor and an expansive back deck for sunsets and libations. This is the perfect place to relax, recharge and reset. 25 min. walk to Haywood Rd. and West Asheville's restaurants, breweries, stores, and more! 5 minute drive to Downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, River Arts District, The Arboretum, farmer's markets, and the French Broad. EZ access to frwys & anywhere in WNC!

The space
French provincial brick, built in 1925, restored in 2015. Lush and beautiful front garden, filled with colorful flowers and indigenous plants. There is a large back deck with patio furniture and string lights for a peaceful evening under the stars.
The guests have access to the entire main house ~ living room, dining room, sunroom and large outdoor deck.
The basement apartment is Not included.
Because the City of Asheville requires that AirBnB hosts live under the same roof as their guests, we have created a separate apartment in the basement where we stay.
The apartment is completely self-sufficient and has it's own entrance.
We are here for you as your personal concierge or need any assistance. Otherwise, we give you complete privacy and leave you to enjoy the house and all the amenities.
As the house was built long before there was air-conditioning, (how did people survive?,) we have portable air-conditioning units upstairs and downstairs that we install when the weather gets warm. These units work very nicely to keep the interior of the house cool and comfortable during the warm summer months.

Nikolas ~ I am a Swedish artist/elf and creator of unique, whimsical art and home accessories; mostly made of wood and painted in bright, happy colors. My work is available for purchase from my home and onsite workshop. Perhaps you'd like to take home an original piece of handmade artwork to brighten Your world and to remind you of your trip to beautiful Asheville!

During your stay

We make a point to be at the house to welcome guests, show them the house and answer any questions they may have.
We also have self check-in instructions if that is preferred.
We are here for our guests for concierge service or if there is a problem.
Otherwise, we do not "socialize" with our guests unless invited.

Because the City of Asheville requires that AirBnB hosts live under the same roof as their guests, we have created a separate living space in the basement and a back house where we stay with our dog and 2 cats when there are guests in the main house. We are completely self-sufficient there and have our own entrance.

We do not share any common spaces except the freezer on the main level and the washer and dryer which is in the basement.
If the host has a need to enter into the main house, (ie. to access freezer,) we will contact the guest prior for permission to enter space.

The guests have exclusive access to the living room, dining room, kitchen, sunroom and large outdoor deck and all the amenities of this lovely, whimsical, comfortable home.
There is only one party of guests in the house at a time.

There is also a pen in the back yard with a covered shelter for dogs. (Please inquire with hosts for use.)
