The space

The space:
Lovely restored Riad (home) from 17th century, in the old part of Marrakesh (City Centre) Still with its original Arab style and architecture like the walls that 60-70 cm thick, great stuff for insulation. A large black & white handmade tiled courtyard and turquoise blue fountain. Some of the tiles may looks with stain mark on them or the color start to fade way (It’s their age, history why we keeping them) under a canopy of a family of four Orange, Grapefruit, Citron, and Pomegranate trees nestled in the middle with chirping birds sound. Moroccan style saloon on the first floor, great space to read a book, wind down with a cold beer, glass of fine Moroccan traditional red wine or just refresh up with a glass of mint-tea. Finely, the roof terrace where to enjoy plenty of sunshine during day time, breezier at night and its magnificent spot for the starry night watch with views of the ancient roof topped Marrakesh.
We understand to respect the Moroccan law when it comes to restoring ancient building and by doing ours we kept the original vision of Moroccan architecture in keeping with Marrakesh medina’s rich history. To design the riad we chose materials and furnishers that we love for ourselves too.

Rooms & size:
All the rooms size are 22 meters square, good size shower area and walls on TADALAKT (special traditional waterproof materials used in old days for tiling). Handmade plaster vaulted ceiling, double bed with comfortable mattresses, sofa bed, wardrobe, hand painted dressing table and soft Moroccan rugs & kilims on floor. We provide the usual amenities like natural quality 100% cotton bed liner, shampoo soap and toiletries. The house’ surface is 181 square meters, accommodate 10-14 people, in 5 private suites, on 6 beds (4 suites, each offers a double & a sofa bed and 1 suite with twin beds). 3 air-conditioned suites & 2 with fans and heaters)

First and foremost, the riad is beautiful and a very relaxing place to be away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby souks. The riad is strategically placed close to the main square and all of the local sights. The riad staff were exceptionally welcoming and beyond hospitable. Mustafa who looks after the riad is especially helpful and was an invaluable resource for our first time in Marrakech. Mustafa organised amazing excursions and booked taxis for us whenever we needed them. He even booked taxis for us after we had left the riad which is a testament to his kindness. I thoroughly recommend Riad Blue Berber and will definitely return again in the near future.

This Riad was beautiful and the staff there were very firendly and helpful the breakfast was great. It is 3 minutes walk from the main square but is quiet enough and has a lot more beauty than most riads. Thanks for a great stay.
