Doug's place was just what we were looking for. The location was just what we had wanted. Secluded with only a short drive to Glen Ellen. While the drives to Napa Valley and Sonoma were slightly longer, the central location made it easy to visit all of the wineries we were interested. Additionally, Doug did all the same things to make the stay really enjoyable including fresh figs, snacks and a bottle of wine upon arrival among others. We enjoyed the hot tub several nights along with experiencing some of the great wildlife including turkeys and deer. Would definitely return next time we're in wine country.

The Red Cottage and Doug were absolutely fantastic, we loved being out amongst the tall trees listening to the stream while we sat out on the patio having our coffee and breakfast. The property is so beautiful we even took some great pictures! Would definitely stay here again!!

Doug was a superb host. Beautiful cottage that was more than plenty of space for the four of us. Excellent recommendations, more than enough to plan to eat breakfast each day, quiet slice of paradise.

Doug was really helpful when we were planning our trip around the area. We came without having an exact plan, but he gave such detailed information after making our reservation and then sat with us when we got to the airbnb to help us figure out what we'd like to do. One of my favorite things was to just sit in the back porch and listen to the creek there. It was also really lovely to sit right outside the cottage and watch the vast amount of stars in the sky. Coming from a busy, congested city, we rarely get to see that many. Overall happy with our stay.

Response from Doug:
Hi Ambika, You and your family were a delight to have as our guests. I really enjoyed meeting and actually spending some quality time with all of you. I wish you well on your journey and do hope to see you again and with any luck you will come back with your family as well. Don't forget to look at Jack London State Park and Broadway Under the Stars. As they like to say when they open each performance....get ready for the best night ever!!!! It is really spectacular especially given the open air setting. Cheers doug

Quaint, surprisingly spacious cabin. Doug was very friendly and helpful. Ask him about the history of the property! For those concerned about lack of A/C, it was no problem - Doug opened up the house for us so it could cool down and it was very pleasant at night.

Response from Doug:
Thanks Katie, History is what helps us to appreciate what we have today. Please come back when you can. It was great to meet and share some time with all of you. Cheers

Tammy it was wonderful to meet you and I am happy you enjoyed your stay. Again sorry about the inconvenience of the hot tub refusing to be hot. I am in the process of correcting the problem. You are welcome back anytime......

My wife Deborah and I have lived in Sonoma Valley for over 30 years and can't think of another place to live that's more beautiful with so much to offer for our lifestyle. We garden and cook, a lot! We're food people and love dining alfresco. We enjoy the local restaurants and support the local businesses. We enjoy hiking and bike riding and the peace and quiet of our neighborhood. And the local wine, well what can we say!? We've traveled to Italy, France, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Hoping to explore more of our own country.
