Your review Jack is full of pretence. Yes, Hatkiva isn’t an upper class neighbourhood. There are no posh sky scrapers or fancy bars and restaurants in the area. However, one will discover a vibrant, diverse and charming place if he cares to look a little closer. Hatikva neighbourhood holds the best market in Tel Aviv and is full with best local restaurants, which give tourists great feel for the colourful melting pot Israel is. In addition, it is only 2.5 km away from Rothschild Boulevard at the heart of Tel Aviv, a 200m walk away from bus station or 500m walk to the railway station, which my previous guests found a great advantage. The apartment was renovated one year ago, it has a new kitchen, a walk in closet, bathroom, A/C, WiFi and cable TV. In the hallway there is a washing machine for common use of the house guests - everything one needs. The apartment is clean and is maintained in the best way possible. My father and I are very attentive to guests needs. Our previous reviews testify that.
From my perspective, if you saw bugs and roaches the sensible thing to do would be to let me know immediately. You could have nocked on my door (you knew I was just downstairs) and show me the problem first hand. But you didn’t reach out for an immediate assistance or perhaps weren’t even interested in it. Instead, you waited the whole night and didn't even contact me the next morning. Then in the afternoon of the next day, you cancelled your reservation and left the flat unlocked! You didn’t even coordinate your check out. You left the door to your apartment unlocked, the main door to the house unlocked and house gate wide open. You have put the contents of the flat and the entire house at risk and potentially the safety of my tenants and myself at risk. I was 70 km away when I received a message from airbnb about your cancelation and had to rush back to make sure everything was ok. You were my only guest to ever complain on bugs and roaches. Also you stayed in the apartment for 12 nights, through which you never made a complaint prior to your cancelation. Checking the apartment the night after you left, I couldn’t identify bugs or roaches and there are NO holes in the wall you were referring to. I didn’t find any justification for you to cancel the booking and moreover for the lack of decent communication from your side, your carelessness and disrespectful behaviour. That is why I decided to decline your refund request.
