The Fishing Creek Farm Stay is a unique experience in the rolling hills of scenic Fishing Creek Township, Stillwater PA. Wake up to the views & sounds of this small farm where you can see goats, chickens, & draft horses grazing, as well as the possibility of seeing them harnessed and working the large garden throughout the warm season. While this location is very rural, we are located close to covered bridges, Ricketts Glen State Park (~15 minutes) and the charming towns of Benton & Bloomsburg.

The space
The apartment is located on the basement level of our home but features two walk out sliding glass doors onto the private patio that looks out to the pasture. The apartment is spacious and features a master bedroom with king bed, and a living room with a twin over futon bed for extra guests or children. While the apartment is not air conditioned, you'll find that it typically stays in the 60s - 70s and seems very cool compared to the outside temperatures due to being mostly underground. There are two sliding glass doors with fans if needed, but it is naturally quite cool in the apartment and we recommend keeping the doors closed when it is hot out for this reason.

Please note that the apartment is located on the bottom level of our home, where we live. You have your own entry, kitchen, washer/dryer and complete apartment but we do live on the upper part of the home and will be around the farm daily. Please ask if you have any questions!

Guest access
Guests have full access of the apartment space. We have a washer & drier for your use as well as a full kitchen.

Please let us know if you’d like to interact with the animals. Guests are not permitted in the barn or pasture without myself (Rich) present. Guests assume any and all risks associated with farm activities and animal interaction by staying on our property.

Other things to note
It is a basement apartment so you might be able to hear us moving around on the main level from time to time. You’ll also hear some occasional farm sounds, such as baby goats talking to each other, roosters crowing, or the horses carrying on about something.

The wifi is pretty slow - sometimes aggravatingly so. Unfortunately it's quite literally the only option that services our area. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

Other things to note
While this is a pet friendly stay, I have many guests who have allergies and we like to be considerate of them as well. This being the case, if you do have a family pet with you during your stay, you are required to make sure that they stay off of all furniture at all times and that they be crated in the event that they need to be left alone in the apartment.

During your stay
I am self-employed and operate a farrier (horse shoeing) and logging business. This, in addition to the maintenance of the farm / property keeps me fairly busy most days. However, if asked in advance for tours, camp fires, or other assistance with farm related activities, I am more than happy to do whatever I can to make it happen. Please don't hesitate to ask!
