In the heart of the Grand Circle region, our red rock Quiet Shelter refuge is within easy reach of Southern Utah's most stunning landscapes, including Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon North Rim and Lake Powell. Occupying 2.4 acres of this beautiful landscape, is our tranquil adobe style casita in Kanab, Utah.

This area is a gateway to outdoor adventure and rich cultural heritage. Whether a romantic getaway, creative retreat, or adventure basecamp, it is our pleasure to host you!

The space
Our vision and dream was to create a space inspired by southwest design. A space that would fit naturally into the stunning landscape of canyons, mountains, buttes, gorges, slot canyons and deserts. With red adobe tones throughout and green sage trims, we hope as you adventure outside you will transition into our accomodation with ease.

Our Quiet Shelter refuge is open simplified living that feels spacious yet not overwhelming. Built with clean lines, concrete floors and countertops, and windows on all sides, you will love how light shifts in the mornings and afternoons.

Grab your cup of coffee at dawn and sit in our rock table courtyard. The rising sun turns the sandstone butte behind our property a dazzling pink. In the afternoons lounge and BBQ in the shaded east patio with glimpses of the continuing Southern Utah desert. Meditate as you walk on the gravel pathways around the casita, or continue off the property on state land trails behind the house. Being a "dark sky city" stargazing is a must as night sets in.

Our hope is you fall deeply in love with this space and land as we have. Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, inviting, and easy.

Location

Kanab, Utah, United States

"Kanab, Utah is classic American West, surrounded by towering Navajo sandstone cliffs and vistas of sagebrush.

This scenery has lured filmmakers to Kanab for nearly 80 years. Abandoned film sets near town have become tourist attractions. The buildings all over town have plenty of movie posters and autographed photos to support Kanab's self-proclaimed title, "Little Hollywood." It is also a great basecamp for road cycling adventures.

Part of being a great basecamp is an abundance of local and diverse dining options, and great Kanab lodging. Kanab offers traditional fast-food options along with an array of sit-down dining experiences, including an artisanal bakery, vegetarian wood-fired pizza, New American cuisine with microbrews and craft cocktails at Sego and southwestern and Cajun fusion at Wild Thyme Cafe." -visitutah.com

We are located in the "Ranchos" in Kanab. This area is only two miles from downtown and grocery stores, yet still feels secluded. The neighbors in our community are quiet and friendly.

Hi there! I’m a lover of the outdoors and small communities. I moved to Mountain Home Village in California in 2011 and now have embarked on Airbnbing my dream home in southern Utah. Creating environments where travelers can rest and explore is my passion. I am a down to earth photographer/graphic designer/substitute teacher. I enjoy traveling immensely and love meeting new people. I currently work with a non-profit organization in Patagonia, Chile as their creative coordinator. I look forward to meeting you whether I’m traveling or hosting.
