This hand sculpted dwelling combines the rustic feel of an indigenous hut with the luxury of an upscale B&B. Set at the edge of the grounds of our small but busy ecovillage, the view is pastoral and quiet, yet it's only minutes to the DFW metroplex.
This is for people who want a natural and simple experience. While there is plumbing, internet, and hot water in the main house, the cottage has no plumbing ,and its bathroom is a private outdoor decomposing toilet. There is electricity but no AC.
Because we are a thriving ecovillage, we always have many very interesting people around! The cottage is very private, but there is a lot going on. We have gardens, and many projects. There are lots of animals, bugs and nature as well as fun and interesting activities.
The cottage is beautiful and very private though it is simple. If one would like internet, hot water, or other amenities, we have a main house which has access available upon communication based on the circumstances.
We also grow and prepare beyond organic, world class cuisine. This is available to all guests for a reasonable donation. Food can be pre-ordered and customized or simply taken advantage upon if and when it's desirable and convenient.
Interaction with guests
We always have people here. We are a thriving community and are constantly gardening, building, cooking, and playing every day!
Other things to note
We have a locked gate to ensure safety and privacy for ourselves and our guests. Visitors are free to come and go as they please; we just need to lock and unlock the gate which will simply require a communication and a few minutes to attend.
See above for notes on food.

The Garden of Eden is an Ecovillage just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This small community is home to about a dozen people aged 3 to 56 years, a few dozen chickens, a goat, a rabbit, two dogs, and sevral cats. It was founded by visionary author, speaker and consultant Quinn Eaker on the principles of Freedom, Responsibility and Sustainability.
Our daily life here is rich, vibrant, abundant, and inspired. Each person here has a unique personality and style of contribution to the flow of life, yet all wake when they want and help in the ways that are most meaningful, joyful, and important to them. We use very little water, power, and other resources. We salvage even more than we conserve, and put old things to new uses in creative ways.
Each day is a day of celebration of life, and each meal is too! Here we have great feasts just about every evening, and a pretty nice spread of a lunch buffet too. Breakfast is usually smoothies, or farm fresh eggs made to order. We drink activated structured water, full of delicious herbs and fruits to enhance absorption and nutrition.
We welcome you to join us in our custom Cob Cottage, built of this land with our own hands, and experience the magic of the Garden of Eden.
