2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths - sleeps 6, with California king bed, queen bed and a pull out queen sofa bed in the living-room. New kitchen with granite counters, remodeled bathrooms and an outdoor warm shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the house includes washer and dryer, an outdoor hot water shower, cable TV, WiFi, DVD player, stereo with CD player, and lots of guide books, books, and games.
Just bring your bathing suit. Everything else is provided: linens, beach towels, chairs, umbrella, bodyboards, kites and toys.
CasaMareAptos is a duplex. The upstairs apartment is never rented; it's our second home and we, a semi-retired couple, use it on weekends.
The house architecture provides total privacy; with guest having an exclusive use of the downstairs, fenced in back/side yards, outdoor shower, the BBQ, and 2 car driveway. The downstairs apartment has a separate entrance through the private side yard. Only the front yard is shared with the owners. There is practically no street parking. The rental comes with a 2 parking spaces in the driveway.
Interaction with guests
We spend weekends (sometimes long ones, since we love it here so much more than the hectic Silicon Valley) in the upstairs apartment. Our kids are grown so it’s just the two of us. We are available to answer any questions, to share our favorite places to visit and eat at, and, if you have time and we're around, we love to meet our guests for a glass of wine, juice and/or Marianne's ice cream.
Other things to note
Location! Location! Location! Both being scientist, we used a scientific approach, the Radar app, in selecting the warmest, least foggy beach community. We’re surprised to discover that often there is a 15 to 20 degrees difference with in less than 10 miles.
We chose our home because of proximity to the beach and it’s unique architecture.
- - You will be in a quiet residential neighborhood please keep noise to a minimum at all times and in particular between 9 pm and 9 am. By law there should not be any outdoor parties after 10pm.
- - There will be NO ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHT GUESTS without permission from the owners.
- - There will be NO PARTIES, CATERING OR OUTSIDE MUSIC PERMITTED without the written consent of the owners.
- - Occupant is made aware that the house is NOT baby-proofed.
- Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 11:00 am unless otherwise arranged.
- Rates do not include daily maid service, gratuities, car rental, food, liquor, laundry, personal items, excessive cleaning upon departure (ie: upholstery or rug shampooing, etc.) or state and local tax.
- No landlord-tenant relationship shall be created hereby.
- Owner(s) will in no way be responsible or liable for personal property lost due to theft, flood, fire, unforeseen circumstances or natural disasters.
- Occupant is made aware that the house is NOT baby-proofed.
- Owner(s) reserve right to offer refund due to an emergency, fire, unforeseen circumstance or natural disaster.
- Occupant(s) shall be liable for all acts of the family, invitees, employees or other persons invited onto the property should there be any legal action relating to occupant(s) use of residence. No visitors between the hours of 10pm and 9am.
- There is a strict no smoking and no pets policy anywhere on the property.
- The entire deposit shall be forfeited if occupant(s) violate any of these terms and occupants will be liable for additional damages.
