During your stay

The home and its furnishings represents the lifestyle lived here almost 200 yrs. and which Chef-author John LaFleur, a former French teacher & licensed New Orleans tour guide writes about in his many books!

The house is very reminiscent of New Orleans French period architecture and reveals the lifestyle of Louisiana's forgotten Creoles of the 18 & 19th c. Creoles.

They escaped New Orleans and fled to their country estates upriver to what was once known as "the French-speaking triangle" and "Creole Parishes".

There, they maintained separate homes and the original Creole cooking styles somewhat lost to New Orleans and now mislabeled as "Cajun" since 1968.

A visit/stay at John LaFleur's Creole Guesthouse is to discover and immerse oneself into Louisiana's true and historic culture-firsthand!
Chef John offers his books and all-natural Creole seasonings for sale, as well as art cards and prints! Et, oui, on parle en francais!
Escorted, guided tours across this forgotten part of a very remarkable region of Louisiana French cultural history are also offered by John, himself!
