This was a last minute booking for me having come to DC for a graduate program, and it worked out great. The room is in a separate part of the attic (which has a closed staircase leading to it), so I basically had my own quiet, comfortable space to study. The rest of the house is very charming with comfortable living room, kitchen and bathroom shared with other guests. This warm atmosphere made it easy to come back to after a busy day. As far as the neighborhood, the house is in a nice, quiet residential area walking distance to Starbucks, Chill Zone coffee, Harris Teeter grocery (with a salad, soup, and hot bar if you don’t want to cook), Duck Donuts (warm donuts!), CVS, etc… Bus stops at the corner, with an express bus (3Y) to DC during the week at rush hour for only $2 each way. Sofia, the hostess, is very pleasant and accommodating to any possible needs you have and goes out of her way to fix any problems. She also seems to attract nice guests which I enjoyed speaking and hanging out with during down time. This was just the kind of easy-going atmosphere I was looking for, I look forward to returning.

Sofia is a very nice person and was always helpful. Very quiet neighborhood with a big grocery store and a bus stop nearby.

Sofia was very kind and helpful during my stay. The place is lovely and the environment was welcoming. All in all I was satisfied with the accommodation and I warmly recommend it.

When I first booked the room, I had expected the end of August to be a fair bit cooler but when it turned out to be just as hot as the rest of the summer, Sofia was more than accommodating. She let me move into one of the other vacant rooms and absolutely made sure I was comfortable despite her own things going on. Our communication was open and consistent so I could not have asked for a better AirBnB host. The listing itself is exactly as it was represented and seems quite nice. The neighborhood is also fantastic; tons of delicious and ethnically varied restaurants all within walking distance, and only a 10-20 minute drive to down town DC.

Sofia's apartment was really great! I was traveling a lot and wasn't in the apartment too much but Sofia was very communicative the entire time and incredibly accommodating.

Sofia was a wonderful host. She was always making sure that I feel comfortable and good in the room. I stayed with Sofia for 5 weeks and the attic was great for that period of time. The room was big enough for everything I needed and I had access to the kitchen as well so that I could make myself something to eat there. The access to DC was also very good with the bus or with the metro. I can highly recommend this place!!

Sofia was a wonderful host and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. The listing is accurate, but I will note that if you are a particularly tall person, you might want to consider another accommodation - it is an attic after all! Very simple room, so if you're looking for something well priced and easy, highly recommended.
