Loved Jacqueline's place in the sleepy area of Green Garden near Silver sands beach, we stayed for a week at the beginning of September. The studio was on the cosy side and good for the week as a couple staying there. The closest beach is 5 minutes in the direction of Surfers Bay and very secluded but gorgeous where you can sunbathe and there is an area which is shaded. As everyone has said before us Surfers Bay bar is 2 minutes walk away giving gorgeous views over the ocean and serving up an amazing fish and chips and rum punch! Although we found this wasn't really open during the day, maybe it is the time of year?! Personally we found that the short walk up the hill to Sookram Mini Mart gave us all the essentials we need such as butter, milk, bread, eggs and beer! If you (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map 'Sookram mini mart' you can find it quite easily. From Sookram mini mart there are the 'buses' which will take you pretty much to the other end of the island for just $2, we visited Oistins a number of times this way and also St Lawrence Gap. The buses are small white vans and the drivers will honk if you look like you need a lift. Oistins Fish fry on a Friday is a must and go to Miami beach for sure which is right by Oistins. What surprised us was just how secluded the area was, which was absolutely perfect for us, would absolutely recommend anyone looking for this kind of holiday. Waking up to views of the ocean every morning cannot be compared with anything else. Simply amazing!

Jacqueline was the PERFECT host ... helpful, friendly but gave privacy too! Hooked us up with some great events and recommendations... and allowed up a late checkout as well ! I would describe our trip to Barbados as remarkable in countless ways even though I used to live there! The accommodation was a massive part of a wonderful experience. Choose this villa and this area if you want a more authentic experience of Barbados and don’t feel the need to stay in the up-market tourist hotel dominated section of B’dos, being St. James. Best things were absolutely the amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean from Coconut Bay villa (thank you Jacqui ☺), with mesmerizing turquoise and deep blue colours from the Villa, the quietness, and the ocean being steps away; loved heading to the local shop Sookram’s and just limin’ with a couple of locals on first arrival, acclimatizing to the heat, the lingo and the comings and goings of the neighbourhood. Jacqui’s place is smack dab next to some amazingly local houses / neighbours. Zed’s surf shop and the bay is about a 20 minute walk north east and is a quirky and worthy find. Oistins is a short drive away with a combination of predominantly local life (famous fish market) and some tourists – it was a regular destination daily for all our food, drink needs. A low-key ‘Western style’ hotel (Moonraker and Surfer’s Bay bar!) is steps away with happy hour, good food and some engaging staff. We would also like to give a big ‘shout-out’ to Jacqui for her impeccable communication and pre-arrival support (arranging a respectable car hire which was dropped off at the villa, arranging ‘mike’ to pick us up from the airport, etc) and arrival treats in the fridge (Banks Beer and a splash of Mount Gay Rum - quintessential). The beds were firm but comfortable. Fans work well but be prepared for it to still be ‘hot, hot, hot’! It’s B’dos after all.

It's fairly small studio but was good enough to sleep and spend some time in the morning to cook our breakfast. The terrace faces the sea and you can hear it. The only restaurant/bar around called Surfer's Cafe was closed for reconstruction but it has great reviews and the location is amazing. We spent a week in Barbados. Miami Beach, good stretch of white sandy beach and crystal clear water, was 15 mins by bus or 25-30 mins walking distance from the apartment. There's a beach right next to the studio, but mostly for surfing... it's way too rough to swim, we walked along it and collect some beautiful shells. To stay in the apartment, I recommend to rent a car, it would make it easier to move around the island. There are several buses, 15 mins walking distance from apartment and they run quite often. It was very inexpensive and we went to 3 different beaches: Miami, Accra and Carlisle Bay (highly recommended, specially if you want to experience swimming with the turtles!). Oistins, where you can enjoy a freshly prepared piece of fish, also 15 mins away by bus. Little father, St. Lawrence Gap, full of nice restaurants and bars as well. Barbados is a beautiful island to visit!

Really lovely stay. Loved the island. Very convenient walk to the bus and convenient store. Cute beach bar around the corner and loved the sound of waves while falling asleep. Definitely the peaceful retreat we needed :)

The location is perfect for anyone looking to eacape from a busy life. Quiet and secluded. However, after a brief warm walk that ends at the top of a fairly steep but short hill you can get on a bus and access anything the island offers. We loved Barbados. There were surfing lessons involved which Jacquie helped arrange. She also left us boogie boards, a frisbee, and offered snorkeling gear. It was a fantastic experience all around. We were in the studio. It is very cute and exactly as the pictures portray it. Walls are a little thin so noise carries but it wasn't a big deal. We would consider returning and wouldn't hesitate recommending Coconut Bay Studio!

Jackie's place was the best of the best for multiple reasons! The setting was beautiful with a clear view of the perfect blue ocean and a short walk to nearby secluded beaches. Cute bar/restaurant next door with more nice people. We were able to both enjoy hanging out at the rental, while also taking trips to the rest of the south, the east, and the west. You can find transportation a short walk from the place or rent a car super easily. Jackie was the most helpful and involved hostess, always ready to share tips and ideas for our stay. Wishing we could just move in :). Best, Abbie & Trevor

Sun, sea and fun seeker and sharer of good times...
I work in Global HR and travel between the UK and the Caribbean and have a personal beach house on the Coconut Bay property..There are also two additional private homes that we happily rent through Airbnb.
I first came to Barbados as as child with my Barbadian father and fell in love with the island...and am happy to share this love with others

I have had many homes in the Caribbean and I would describe the style as Caribbean Coastal Beachouse. ...Relaxed yet stylish.
I am also a certified yoga instructor. So we are very surfer and yoga friendly with great local connections and encourage you to give them both a go !
I support healthy local eating and healthy lifestyles...and love to cook Caribbean fusion food, join us for one of our legendary BBQs.
I can arrange oceanfront yoga sessions, surfing, kiting ,SUP and fitness boot camps and various holistic and alternative massage and spa treatments on the south coast at local prices for you....
So come and have some fun with us!
