Our family home is also on this property. As a matter of fact it’s connected to the little house. Don’t worry, you have a separate, private entrance and the walls are well insulated. We designed our living spaces to be far from the connecting wall so you should only hear us on the odd occasion.
We’ve personally built the homes and out-buildings with an eye toward functionality and style. The landscaping has been designed to create outdoor living spaces that work with, instead of against the natural world that surrounds us. Green building practices, recycled building materials and sustainable design landed us a spot on Bellingham's sustainable home and garden tour. For these reasons and more, we are sure that you will enjoy the rich, cozy, local, coastal lifestyle when you stay with us.
Guests park in a designated, off-street parking spot.
Private entrance is separate from main house.
Fenced yard/private deck with a panoramic view of the surrounding woodlands.
Interaction with guests
We will try to meet you when you arrive, but after that it's up to you. We know that some travelers like to be completely autonomous, but others enjoy getting the local perspective from their host. Feel free to connect with us if/when you need to, but we're just as happy if you keep to yourself.
Other things to note
Our family shares this property, but you'll have complete privacy. Our children can occasionally be heard playing in the yard and on the street, but otherwise it's an incredibly quiet, peaceful, cozy place to stay.
The neighborhood is pretty dark. No streetlights or sidewalks so bring a flashlight if you plan to head out on foot in the evening.
Please take your shoes off before going in the house. The bottom of your shoes not only collect dirt, they track-in pesticides, oil, grease and other nasty stuff.
Please respect us and our neighbors by driving slowly through the neighborhood. Keep your speed under 20 MPH so the kids, dogs and cyclists in the neighborhood feel safe (there aren't any sidewalks).
No smoking, please and no candles in the little house.
Quiet hours 9PM-8AM.
We are lifelong residents of the Pacific Northwest. We’ve lived, worked and played in Bellingham for over 25 years.
We absolutely love this place and take every opportunity savor it with our two wonderful boys (ages 9 and 13). We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, paddling, camping and snow boarding. The four of us also bike commute to work and school via the extensive trail system...right outside our door!
We are excited to share the “local perspective” with you.
