Benllech, Wales, United Kingdom

Benllech is a seaside resort on the east coast of Anglesey North Wales. With it's golden sands a clear blue sea and safe beach area Benllech is popular for traditional family holidays. The town itself is quite small, with many residents having retired to the town after spending many happy holidays in Benllech.

Much of the town straddles the A5025 east coast Anglesey road, as indeed does the shopping centre. Although there are no large chain stores there is a number of supermarkets and a variety of shops supplying the needs of visitors and locals alike.

The beautiful Anglesey countryside and glorious beaches ensure visitors return year after year. Children are happy to while away their holidays on Benllech's famous beach. Beach rangers patrol the beach in the summer months and organised games offer other options to the kids than crabbing, rock pooling and paddling in the sea.

For those who require activities that are more strenuous Benllech beach is popular for sea canoeing and surfing. Moreover, the close proximity of the Anglesey Coastal Path offers opportunities for some of the best coastline walks in Wales and the UK.

A local favourite walk is in the southeasterly direction toward Penmon. This walk takes one past the St David's Park campsite toward Red Wharf Bay. Red Wharf is a fantastic bay with miles of sands and an abundance of places to explore.

Should just talking about all this walking tire you out then fear not as Benllech also offers the opportunity to just relax and chill out. Spend a day relaxing on the beach, the small promenade offers a cafe and souvenir shop, ice cream kiosks, a car park and toilet facilities. All you need for a typical British seaside holiday!
