Nestled among 150 olive trees on an elevated eastern ridge of the town of Calitri stands the holding Le Strettole.
Located on a slight hill at an altitude of 530 meters above sea level just on the edge of town
Le Strettole is surrounded by lush vegetation and enjoys a superb panoramic view of
the Ofanto Valley.
We are in a lush green area of the Campania region on the border with Basilcata at the foot of the Vulture mountain beech woods which surround Lake Monticchio (located a few kilometers away) and the nature reserve of Lake Conza della Campania.
This rich landscape of green fields and rolling hills is covered with wheat and other grains and provides a unique representation of an ideal environment for quality agriculture.
Le Strettole is located in Campania's territory of production of private label "doc" products such as white Podolico veal, aged Podolico cheese or Cacio Cavallo and Ricotta cheese. These products are fully inserted into the food and wine industry's registry in Campania.
Calitri is host to a historic unchanged Old Town and the birthplace of Carlo Gesualdo, a famous composer and musician of the 1500's of whom the city of Avellino has a dedicated theater and a museum.
