After reading the reviews I was very excited about staying at Pattys place, but once I got there, there were some really good points about the place and some really bad points. I liked the outdoor kitchen, fruit trees, looking out at the stars at night and daily yoga available in the beautiful straw bale studio. But I didn't like her untrained dog which bit me (4 times) and most of the other visiting guests on several occasions, ripping our clothes and belongings. Plus there was dog poop all over the grass, not quite what I was expecting. I didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the Cabin, as the door didn't close properly or lock, so Patty moved me from the Cabin into a small caravan; which I was happier about, as it could lock from the inside. The first day/night in the caravan was ok, but the second night it was freezing and I woke up to the bed caved in and terrible back pain in the morning. The bedding and outdoor hammocks were dirty and mouldy and the kitchen was tidy but quite dirty and in much need of a deep clean. I met a really nice French couple which made my time there really enjoyable, as if they weren't there I would have been there completely alone. Patty is lovely, kind, thoughtful and a good host, but from my experience I wouldn't call it paradise. I've stayed in all types of accomodation from hostels to 5 star and think that this place is misleading and way overpriced. I was prepared for clean and comfy rustic, as the pictures were beautiful and the comments were excellent, but it was similar to a low grade hostel kind of rustic. I paid £40 per night when I booked and Patty said she would refund some of the money, as I ended up staying in the caravan which was only £30 per night, but I didn't receive anything. Her place is within walking distance to the beach and Aldi which was fab, but you'd need a car to get anywhere else. Overall I wasn't happy with my stay at Pattys and after some thought I don't think I'll be returning. With alittle TLC this place really could be a beautiful paradise.

Response from Patty:
Thanks Ellie for your observations and positive input - after such a busy summer season, autumn sees the time for repairs and renewals which we are happily underway with. Ronnie our cute 8 month old puppy and camp mascot is well loved by our guests. He is sweet, charming and playful as all puppies are - but perhaps a little boisterous for someone who is afraid of dogs. He is rapidly turning into a mature, obedient and intelligent dog Regarding the price, the cabin is 40euros/night not £40 (£29) and the caravan is 30euros/night not £30 (£22) Wishing you all the best, you are always welcome back here at our little paradise.

From Craig... Patty Pans paradise, to me, is just that… paradise. It reminded me of every part of my life that I have enjoyed. I love the shared kitchen arrangement… many communal meals and great conversations. We stayed in the rustic cabin, which feels so natural and peaceful, and is bigger than the pictures suggest. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we arranged for a longer stay and are still here! Patty must attract great energy to her property, because everyone we have met here has been a joy to be with. A great place for kids… ‘kids paradise’ has a sand pit, a paddling pool, and lots of toys to share. There is an ALDI for all food needs and a petrol station 15 minutes walk away (not on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps), and a quiet beach about 10 mins walk. Its so peaceful at Patty’s… its hard to leave. ☺ From Rachelle... Patty Pan’s as opposed to Peter’s… and what a magical Neverland it is!!! Endless funky, free-flowing bliss, colorful camp mates and surroundings, inspiration around every corner…. Communal living at its finest with huge equipped kitchen, plentiful W.C accommodations, and bountiful garden to connect with. Gather fresh lemons, avocados, and various herbs to enjoy daily. Relax and relate in something plush. Send the kids, big and small to Kids Paradise complete with paddle pool, sand pit and toys galore, tire swing, tree-bound trapeze, and flying hammock. And don’t forget the fully equipped yoga studio… Honestly, I can’t speak enough praise! Patty is a gracious host and often involved in day to day activities- there is both peace and plentiful play when you want it. Dare I say Utopia??!?! Craig, Rachelle and Celeste
