My wife of 30 years and I began in the same neighborhood on the north side of Chicago.
After attending the U of O in Eugene Or. We came to Ketchikan just to work for a summer. To make a long story short, we stayed had 4 kids all raised in Ketchikan, I began working on the Alaska marine highway in 1982, and ended up with 31 rental units. I also run a small gift and snack stand next to the building “Your own apartment” is in.
I grew up traveling a lot with my family, also did a semester at sea with world campus afloat, that made port in 6 African countries, and 7 from SE Asia to N. Asia.
I work out 5 days a week at our local Rec center, it’s just minutes away-- your welcome to join me, I’m an amateur guitar player, a little flamenco, and improvisations, have studied Sitar, and fool around with a Turkish Saz. I love to cook, it’s a passion, and I cook, or make breads, Mediterranean salads, soups, sushi, etc. every day.
I’m a people person and always had people jobs, as a second steward on the Ferry I looked after the needs of passengers and fellow shipmates, as a land Lord I deal with many people helping them work out logistics and “Life” issues, as a gift stand owner of course I’m selling, but I enjoy many conversations a day with visitors to Ketchikan, weather they arrive by Cruise ship, ferry, or Alaska airline,
I love hearing other people’s stories, experiences, advice, and I’m waiting here to give you my 33 years of experience of living in Ketchikan, so together we can make sure you maximize your time, and experience.
Red wine, single malt Scotch, vegetarian meals, yoga, fusion of Middle east, Indian, with Blues, or Jazz music, good conversation, learning, engaging my mind, they’re all a part of me.
