Having booked this place well in advance, Maximiliano and I were in contact prior to my arrival to his place. I liked the fact that he had many questions for me...to me, I see it as he cares about his place and who stays in it.
Not being from Chile, I purchased a SIM card at the airport so that we could be in touch. Because my flight was severely delayed, I missed seeing Maximiliano as he too had a flight to catch and waited as long as he could. Instead, the apartment manager opened the door for me and showed me around. The apartment was clean and looked exactly as in the pictures. The view from the balcony is lovely. There is a large grocery store and shopping center nearby (walking...20 mins). The pool, as shown in the pictures, is enormous. Being my first time in Chile, I was unaware just how 'chilly' the waters were, but that didn't stop many Chileans from splashing about and having a good time. I more enjoyed hanging out with family on the man made beach. I'm told that February is the best time to be there as far as temperatures.
New Year's Eve was delightful as we stayed on the balcony, grilled burgers, and watched the fireworks over the water.
I would have to say I was disappointed that the apartment was advertised as having wifi and only upon arrival I found out that the only available wifi was in a very small back room on the first floor of another building. It was quite an inconvenience as I was waiting for family members to arrive and needed to be in contact with them. Hopefully Maximiliano will add internet in the apartment. (Once we all arrived safe and sound, not having internet was actually kind of nice.)
The grounds crew and the security guards were all very helpful and friendly. Upon check out, Maximiliano was in town and met my husband and was very glad to hear we had a good time.
