Interaction with guests
I live in a separate house on the farm which allows me to take care of any unexpected needs. However, I won't have any interaction with guests as I intend this rental to offer privacy and tranquility. The farm--Friesians at John's Lane Farm-- is also home to horses, chickens , ducks, donkeys, sheep, and goats.
Other things to note
For those who wish to spend some time in paradise - this location should be one to consider. Ideal for the writer, artist , nature, and, of course, the horse lover!
I would expect my guests to be respectful of me, my property and my animals. Pets are welcome as long as they are house broken and do NOT attack other animals. I do not permit pets on the furniture and/or beds! There is no smoking on the farm. Entering pastures and/or chicken runs is not permitted.
I am an artist working in sculpture, printmaking and children's book illustration. I have raised Friesian horses from Holland and have a small herd on my farm among other animals such as goats, donkeys, sheep and chickens. I love to hear wonderful stories; enjoy the company of enlightened positive people. I treasure my solitude and independence.
I've been told that I'm a good cook and can actually bake something if I follow the directions and NOT improvise. I could not live without my children and grandchildren as well as my dear friends. I am a fiercely loyal friend and a direct candid communicator. I could not live without my horses. Paris is my favorite city after my birthplace New York City! I love New York City feeling a huge connection to the people who live and work there. I could better describe this connection as tribal or a kindred spirit. I enjoy reading Joyce Carol Oats, Toni Morrison, Zora Neale Hursten - Rolling Stone, NPR radio , PBS...I am a museum junkie - fixated on galleries in Washington D.C. New York City, of course the world's major museums - I've secretly always wanted to live in the Met riding the armored horses into battle; having days, weeks to leisurely explore all its treasures.
When I am a guest my mantra is: HELP do the dishes, clean up after myself, be respectful of my host's time and property. When not sure about something ask.
I expect guests to be respectful and considerate; to communicate their wishes clearly so that everyone is on the same page.
