Yolanda's place has SOUL - thanks to a homely space, and a great location.
The location offers the buzz of the centre, with the hum of passers-by, and the not overly noisy sound of people eating down below in one of the 3 to 4 restaurants on the street. The cathedral's bell provides an ever present reminder how great a spot this is as it chimes on the hour. And as icing on the cake (or maybe that's the foam on the coffee) there's a great little coffee shop right below serving excellent quality. Other than the the occasional wandering busker playing for his or her supper, music doesn't pollute.
The space itself is perfect for 1 or 2, laid out just right and offering a great view onto the street below from either of its two small balconies, which provide a welcome connection to life outside.
You feel part of the city at Yolanda's place, rather than cooped up with the city shut outside.
Early birds or light sleepers may be safe to take some earplugs, but for this location the only noise really is background and only adds to the location.
Finally, Yolanda was great at communicating and a lovely host.
