A cosy, authentic Swiss chalet bed and breakfast/hotel. Rooms can be booked individually or the chalet can be rented in its entirety. Lots of indoor and outdoor spaces, fantastic views, terrace with BBQ and fire pit and an authentically Swiss atmosphere. The 130.- base prices is based on a double room... we also have family rooms and rooms for 4 or 5 adults. I can give you an individual quote for your exact requirements.

The space

Le Vieux Chalet combines the cosiness of a traditional wooden chalet with the space and facilities a family or larger group requires. A kitchen, large dining room, games/ seminar room with projector and screen, all-weather pitch/court with basketball and football nets, outdoor terrace and lounge and a cosy living room with a real log fire offer tons of possibilities for work, play and relaxation. The 18 rooms are all ensuite. They each have between 2 and 5 beds. Each room has a TV, free WiFi is available throughout the chalet and there is plenty of onsite parking. We are in a quiet residential quarter just 10 minutes walk from the village.

The price quoted is for a double or twin room, based on max. 2 guests sharing. Children 9 or under stay for free in their parent's room. Additional guests, including older children, will incur an extra charge.

Guest access

The chalet has 18 rooms so you may or may not be sharing it with other guests.

All guests have access to the lounge, dining room, games/ seminar room, terrace, all-weather pitch/court, gardens and a small kitchen. If you are catering for a large group, ask and we'd be happy to let you use the large professional kitchen too! As we also live on the property in a separate chalet, some of the outdoor spaces are shared. There is a small office in the chalet which is out of bounds to guests.

Interaction with guests

Our family's chalet is just behind Le Vieux Chalet and so we are close by should you need anything. That said, we try to give guests as much privacy as they want, and you will have priority over the use of any outside spaces. We will give you a mobile phone number so that we are contactable 24/7.

Other things to note

If you want to book the chalet for a group you have the option of self catering/ bed and breakfast/ half or full pension. Please contact us to discuss your requirements!

We have a dog which spend the majority of his time at home with us but can sometimes be found roaming the premises, although when the chalet is occupied we try to keep him out of guests way! If any of your party is allergic to dogs or particularly scared of them, please let us know. Please don't leave any food on windowsills or on the balconies as the dogs may hunt it down! There is a small kitchen and fridge free for guests to use for personal food items.

The entire chalet is a non-smoking chalet. Smokers can use the terrasse next to the dining room. Smoking on the balconies is not permitted.

As the chalet is in a residential area we ask that guests respect a 22:30 cut-off time for noisy activities. Music can still continue to be played indoors after this time as long as doors and windows remain closed so as to not disturb our neighbours.

Use of the indoor and outdoor fireplaces is done at the guests own risk. We ask that guests be responsible for tending to the fires in each of these areas and make sure they are not left unattended and are extinguished before going to bed/ leaving the chalet. The same applies to any candles on the terrace. No candles are allowed in rooms.

Le Vieux Chalet is a cozy B&B with 18 rooms. We stayed with 4 little kids in room 12 which was very spacious and charming. Gorgeous views from the sky-window and views over the terrace. Clean and comfy sheets and nice pack-n-play crib for baby. Amenities such as soap / shampoo could be a bit more sophisticated and some minor maintenance in bathroom could help. Best part was breakfast. Just very nice, caring service and made-to-order eggs. Felt lots of heart which is why we like B&B vs hotels. Would help to have local "activities" guide. We did enjoy the hike across Pont Turrian the oldest suspension bridge in Romany Switzerland and the walk to the Ramacle Waterfalls. Unfortunate that the local cable car is out of business. Would recommend staying here!

We loved our stay. The rooms are lovely and spacious with breathtaking views over the valley. We hit unexpected cold weather for Sept and was met by a cosy fire in the living room. Drinks are available in the breakfast room and there is a self help kitchen should you want to make your own food. The hosts were lovely! They recommended a beautiful hike starting from the BnB, and advised on cycling options in the area. Great place to stay to explore the area. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Sarah and Andre could not have done more to make us feel welcome, and to look after us on our stay. The chalet is gorgeous, with spectacular views from the wrap-around balconies, colourful flower boxes, a huge kitchen and dining area, outdoor comfortable seating, and a BBQ and wood stove - and it is clean, homely and welcoming. You will not go hungry - the breakfast is amazing, plentiful, and fresh. Andre met us, gave us restaurant recommendations for the evening - and the next morning when we needed to leave early, he started breakfast an hour early, and drove us to the station. We so appreciated you going the extra mile, thank you so much. I would absolutely stay here again, and will recommend to friends visiting the area. You have a wonderful home, thank you for sharing it with us.

We held a team building event here and it was fantastic! The conference facilities were spacious and practical; on the social side we cooked a barbecue on the terrace and had a fun hike in the area. Sarah and Andre were great hosts. The best chalet bed and breakfast I've ever experienced.

Très bon accueil ! Sarah et son mari sont très sympathiques et serviables! Le cadre est très reposant, effet chalet de bois mais avec les commodités modernes et situé à l'epicentre de différents lieux attractifs. Ce fut un très bon weekend !

Originally from the UK, I moved to Switzerland 10 years ago. I now have a lovely Swiss other half and two children and can't imagine living anywhere else! The Vieux Chalet has belonged to my partner's family for several generations and used to be run by his parents as a girl's finishing school. We love living in the mountains and sharing our knowledge of the area and all it has to offer with the guests that stay here.
